Please read this review with discretion. This seems like a nice restaurant and the wait staff was very friendly. So this establishment claims to be a steak house and pretty pricey comparatively. We are from out of town and we’re there after a car show on 9/23/23 at 6:15pm with our car club (large group). The filet mignon was $38.00 and New York strip was I believe $28.00. We waited and hour and 15 minutes after we ordered before we finally received our food, which I understand we were a large group however most all of our group ordered appetizers so it’s not like they didn’t have plenty of time. My steak was more cold than warm, was warm in the middle but so tough I couldn’t eat it, my baked potatoe didn’t even melt the butter, even after it sat there until everyone was done, butter still wasn’t melted. My husbands New York cut was so thin that it resembled a breakfast steak - not a steakhouse cut! My older teenagers (18 & 19) ordered chicken and shrimp skewers? They said the chicken was good but that the shrimp was cold and tough. Also, there baked potatoes were cold and tough (like they had been sitting out a while). Most everyone at our table said there food was also cold. One half of our party was sitting next to us but at a separated table; they placed there orders right after us and we all were delivered our food and felt bad to eat as they didn’t get there food for another 15-20 minutes but we were all afraid to not eat as our food would have been ice cold by then. We travel all over the US with our car shows and eat dinners out when we go. I was very disappointed with the food, especially given the prices. Our waitress was great and tried her best to keep up and meet our needs. Being in cooperate mngmt myself, a party of our size should have had 2 waitresses. I don’t know if they were short some staff or what but customers shouldn’t know of a problem with staffing or anything else. I hope that this feedback will provide a learning curve for the management and owners. Negative reviews should be viewed as “a problem identifier” and “opportunity for improvement,” to help ensure that this business stays in business and continues a reputation that they would like to have. We will be back again next year for the show and will retry Brother’s Steak House. Hopefully, it was just an isolated issues as this restaurant came highly recommended to us and we are willing to give it another try but...
Read moreFor multiple reasons (kitchen service, food, pricing, co-patrons, etc.), this was easily one of the most disappointing dining experiences I have ever had. Upon arriving, there were approximately one dozen empty tables, but for some reason, the salty hostess seated us at the table that backs up to the kitchen and to the area where others wait to be seated. Nearly all of the traffic in that restaurant wraps around that table. I asked if we could wait for any of the other available tables and the salty hostess got even saltier, though we were then immediately seated in a great booth. It was 15 minutes before we were then greeted by our server, and while that fifteen minutes passed we were subject to two of the loudest talking groups of people I have ever experienced. At one of the adjacent tables, there was your classic mediocre white guy slamming beers and telling all of us about the abundant wealth he generates working as an electrician. At the other adjacent table, there was a group of extremely loud-talking ladies who seemed to be out on a really bizarre sex-in-the-city type ladies weekend. The server eventually came, and despite the wait he was very kind and competent. We ordered our food and then waited a very very very long time for that food to arrive. The shepherd's pie I ordered (we went on St. Patrick's day) arrived cold. We waited again a very long time for the waiter to circle back around. When he did, I told him that the dish cold and asked for a fresh serving. The kitchen microwaved the dish, which lead to unpleasant varying heat zones of mashed potatoes with the top layer at lava level hotness, while the potatoes underneath were still cold. And to add insult to injury, the shepherd's pie was $16. Seriously, shepherd's pie is ground beef, mixed veggies, and mashed potatoes - $16 feels a bit excessive. This restaurant takes itself far too seriously. I...
Read moreWhen I am in town a handful of times each year, I patronize Brother’s at Willow Ranch in Young Harris. Last night my brother, sister-in-law and I had dinner. To start off, my bread plate had a hair on it. Stuff like that happens. I understand. I ordered Salmon as did my sister-in-law and my brother ordered fried catfish. Each entree comes with 2 house sides, but if you want to upgrade to a “signature side,” you pay a hefty amount of $3.99. Typically, I order a side salad, considered a “signature side” for some reason. Up until last night, the side salad was a nice size with tomatoes, egg, bacon and cheese on top, along with onions, croutons and, of course, lettuce. Apparently, the menu, serving sizes and quality have changed. The side salad I received last night was not worth the $3.99 upcharge. I could not find but a sprinkle of cheese, no egg, and no bacon. It was very small and that’s being kind. The bread offering has changed, though the new rolls were tasty. In the past I loved the honey-butter that came with the rolls. That’s gone as well. My salmon, supposedly 8 oz, was not. Further, it was overcooked and dry. The glaze, however, was tasty. Hush puppies, thankfully still available if you ask, were still delicious. I used the QR code on my bill to pay online via credit card. The waitress (Amanda), who was by the way, extremely hospitable and friendly, said that there wasn’t a way for her to verify online payments. That’s a problem! Must be a new system. No more discount for paying cash. Needless-to-say, I was extremely disappointed after paying over $40 for my meal and the quality wasn’t up to par. My brother and sister-in-law probably won’t go back, I might, but it may be a long time before I do so that these issues can be corrected. There are a lot of restaurant options out there. With the economy as it is, going out to eat is a premium. I can spend...
