I had never had arepas before, and wanted to try them—Celida’s was the perfect place to do so! We were greeted very warmly and the lady at the register was so welcoming to my son, that’s always heartwarming. We ordered two arepas (reina pepiada, carne) and two empanadas (cheese and chicken) and were given a buzzer to come back when they were done. The food was so delicious! I am still thinking about the arepa, the outside of the corn cake was so crispy and the inside was moist. The best part was the salsa de ajo, a white garlic sauce that the owner was nice enough to give me extra containers of. I also ordered Chicha, which the owner explained is a Venezuelan drink similar to horchata—it is definitely more the consistency of a milkshake and I was not expecting that, so keep this in mind if ordering for the first time!
