OMG!!! You MUST eat here! We were car shopping up the road at Beaver Toyota, and the sales person recommended this place for lunch. Best recommendation ever! The restaurant is not extremely large. It’s clean and comfortable. ALL of the staff we encountered were smiling and kind. The menu doesn’t have prices but there is a QR code to scan which gives prices. I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonably priced everything was. We ordered the grilled pizza with sausage as a topping. I am so sorry that I did not take photos😔. The pizza was absolutely delicious! It was large enough for 4 people. The sausage was REAL sausage. The cheese was REAL. The herbs sprinkled and baked on the pizza made the flavors taste amazing! I ordered the Half rib platter that comes with two sides. I chose sweet potato soufflé and fresh cut Idaho fries. The fries were so delicious and freshly cut that I wished I would have ordered the basket which is offered as an appetizer. The sweet potato soufflé was fluffy, light, and perfectly sweetened. The half rack was truly a half rack. I was too full to eat it at the restaurant. Instead, I had it for dinner. It was juicy, tender, and fell off the bone with ease. The BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy. My husband ordered one of the BBQ platters with two sides, Cole Slaw and baked beans. He had enough BBQ on his plate to share and take home for dinner. The BBQ was phenomenal. There are several different kinds of BBQ sauce on the tables. We sampled a few and they were delicious, but, the BBQ was so juicy that it did not need any BBQ sauce at all. Each platter also comes with a gigantic piece of Texas Toast! Listen, we live over an hour away from this place. We detest having to get on 400 to go anywhere. BUT, CUE BARBECUE is so scrumptious that it is worth the hike and traffic. We will be back and I will certainly take photos to...
Read moreJuly 2018 - Six years after my initial review, the place is still there. A huge surprise for me. I have never been back, but I guess they fixed enough of the things that I didn't like to start in business. Good for them! I hate to see restaurants fail and know that someone's dreams went unfulfilled.
I ate at Cue Barbecue in Cumming tonight and won't be going back. The beef brisket was terrible - dry and overcooked by at least a couple of hours. I sent it back. The replacement was a 1/2 rack of baby back ribs which were edible, but were the typical "fall off the bone" that had been boiled and then cooked on the smoker for an hour or so - not quality slow-smoked ribs. The "bacon beans" were poor and not as good as many canned beans I've had. The side salad was adequate, but the bleu cheese dressing was thin and lacking flavor. Pretty bad when even a salad with iceberg lettuce is meh.
My wife had the smoked sausage which would have been good if not way overcooked.
And the service was 2-star, too. The waitress was annoying and asked a 65yo woman and me (48yo man) for ID to have wine and beer. Seriously?!? That's just stupid. And when I sent the beef brisket back, they "comp'd" that, but I was full-charged on the 1/2 rack of ribs. Not a big deal, but certainly didn't leave the impression that they wanted me to leave happy.
The one positive - the beer was Red Hare Brown Ale and was good. Not too hoppy, with a strong smooth taste. I'll have that again.
Dessert - our friends had the blueberry cobbler and said it wasn't very good.
Final comment - I predict they won't be in business a year from now. This level of quality will kill...
Read moreMediocre food & service. Called in an order for pick up, i didn't check it at the bar and they packed chopped pork when we ordered sliced. The chopped pork contained so many chunks of tough bark, we could hardly eat it.
Went back 4 months later, called in an order for pick up, ask him how long would it take to prepare the order (2 boxes of sliced pork, 1 1/2 # total) and they said 10 minutes. Went in to pay, and ended up waiting over 25 minutes... Just stood there waiting at the bar. Asked about the order and they said they were busy getting a catering order out (Wednesday 5 pm). Really frustrating when you make a point to call ahead and they tell you 10 minutes, when it really is 35 minutes for a pickup order.
Sliced pork was just okay, sliced too thick, not very tender, not much flavor. They were apologetic that it took so much time, and gave us "extra," but it doesn't matter if it just tastes okay. Bartender who placed the order, gave us at least ten sauces in tiny plastic containers. On the way home, one of them wasn't closed and spilled all over the inside of the bag, soaked the steamed paper bag. Sauce ran all over the container onto the floor mat. I was really happy that I have rubber mats, or it would have been a terrible mess on carpet.
Received a voice mail call on my way home from the restaurant from the manger to explain and apologize, asked me to call him back, offered a dinner for two to give then another try.. His message was sincere, he sounded so nice, so I called the restaurant back. It rang four times and instead of a human, a fax machine picked up.
Third strike. I have given up...
