We've been coming to Doughboy's Pizzeria for the last couple of months. We try to give everything on the menu a go. Roughly once a week we dine in and we've ordered take out one time. While their take out was a minimal wait and your typical 15-25 mins and delicious as always, the dine in is the full Doughboy experience. Beautiful atmosphere, the dim lights help the tiny spot stay cool and comfy, the tables are adjustable (so bubbas like me can let loose) and always well cleaned. They offer a variety of pizzas but our personal favorite is the $20 pizza special. You get a large special pizza (excluding one or two kinds), two salads, a big batch of cheesy bread sticks, and your two drinks. The pizza...omg the pizza, let me tell you about it. This. Is. It. This is the pizza you've been searching for. That's all you need to know about it. INHALES the cheese doesn't taste like your standard cheese and gives off a stronger saltier taste, the tomato sauce from what I can see looks homemade and perfectly compliments the powerful salty taste of the cheese, mixing the two flavors and bringing the full taste of basil in the tomato sauce. Oh but don't be silly and dare throw your crust away, because you will find that this crust is well cooked, crisp and crunchy outer layer with a soft bread center. I've opened the crust to see how good its been cooked and found no signs of raw dough anywhere in it. The slice was cooked to a perfect temperature. You can tell the chefs take pride in it by how neatly layered each topping is, never overlapping and having a big clunk of toppings like Little Ceasers. You will find that the dough is cooked in a well heated oven, and not oily like Pizza Huts or runny from the toppings like other pizzerias. The flavored crust (salted also it seems) will leave your mouth watering and wanting another bite, but don't give into temptation just yet, you still have your salad and cheesy bread. While the salad is given first (and I should have started with that), it is always given fresh. Never had I had a soggy or browned lettuce or greens. It's also not your typical salad like Zaxbys or Chic-fil-a where they give the you the most unhealthiest lettuce like iceburg (really, its just water, nothing nutritional). In Doughboy's salads you will find servings of spinach, green leaf and romaine lettuce, a few slices of onion, and one more green that I have yet to identify. Throw in your favorite sauce (thousand island is my personal fav) and it will get your belly half way there. The cheesy bread again, seems to use a different cheese from the one the pizza uses. The herbs topped on it give it a perfect earthy taste, and while it is a little oily, it is not oversaturated with it and the bread stick stays fairly crunchy. We recently tried the spaghetti and chicken alfredo and the spaghetti was great (real saucy, hearty meat, nice little cuts of tomato, not chucky like most do.) the pasta was well boiled and I found no undercooked strands and all of it slurped smoothly into my mouth. The chicken alfredo is why I am here writing today. At the moment they only run these two dishes on Sunday. NEVER have I EVER, tasted chicken alfredo like this. Creamy, tasty, the oregano and parmesan is a nice little touch and helps to compliment the chicken. If I sound eccentric I am because Doughboy's is that good. Other pizzarias do not exist to me after trying theirs. Trust me on this, I know good food when I taste it and like I've said already...Doughboy's Pizzeria is it. Nuff said go try it, you won't regret it. Check out their classic arcade in the back, remember to tip your waiters/waitresses and SUPPORT YOUR...
Read moreI recently went to pick up an order placed with Grubhub and was told it was canceled because they hadn’t had any orders from them in the last 3 months. That makes no sense to me. There was no apology for the inconvenience and not even an offer to make my order and have me pay in store. It appeared as if I was speaking with the owner or manager as the polite young lady went to get him. He asked how I was doing and told me the news. I paused with a confused look on my face to give him a chance to make it right as he should have, and he just stared at me for several seconds and said nothing. There was a long, awkward silence, so I said never mind. He then offered me a drink. I said no. He asked if I was sure. I said yep. I ordered food and no drink for a reason. I only wanted to try food from here for the first time. I sat in the graveled parking lot for almost 30 minutes finding somewhere else to order what I wanted and didn’t see a single car pull in. Quality customer service, my constant eating out, living 4 minutes away, and my big mouth could have aided in growing a small business like this. I’ve lived here for over a decade. Best of luck to any future customers that happen to have issues with anything on the business’s behalf and could use quality customer service. It would have gone a long way with me. Instead it was a complete waste of my time and a disappointment in my community,...
