Second visit here, and was truly looking forward to it. Our first visit was many months ago since we don't live near the restaurant. We had found their pizza and Caprese salad delicious, so we wanted to explore more of their menu. We arrived around 5pm last Friday to find the restaurant not very busy, but this was on since -like many places- they appeared to be short-staffed. In fact, a manager ended up being our server for the evening. Fresh baked bread slathered with garlic butter was promptly brought out while we perused the menu. My wife ordered Chicken Piccata and I decided on the Chicken Marsala. We each got a Caesar's Salad as well. As we were finishing our salads, the manager/server apologetically informed us that she had mistakenly forgotten to put our order into the kitchen, and that our meals would be a bit longer coming out. We shrugged it off, as this would give us time to digest the large salads. About 20 minutes later our food was brought out, fresh and hot. Her Chicken Piccata was tasty and 'mostly' tender from her description. However, the chicken breast in my Marsala dish was tough as leather. I could tell it was cooked too hot and too fast. The Marsala sauce was more like a mushroom gravy, nothing like a Marsala wine sauce. đ When the manager/server checked on us, asking me if the sauce was ok, I let her know that my chicken was too tough to chew. She asked me again about the sauce, admitting they had to doctor it up from being too salty earlier in the day. I told her it was alright, but reiterated that my chicken was too tough to chew. She replied that she would bring us some to-go boxes soon. đ«€ She never once replied to my statement about the tough chicken, not offered a replacement or discounted bill. We'll have to reconsider visiting Roma Mia a third time since NOTHING was done to correct the ONE issue I had with the place. Four days later my leftovers are still in the fridge waiting to...
Read moreThis is my second time visiting this establishment. The first visit was a great visit. My second visit was HORRIBLE! I went on the site and ordered a chef special. I picked it up and returned to my hotel only to find out it was the wrong order. I called and told the girl on duty what was going on. She said come back. I returned and I showed her what the site was advertising. She looked in my face and LIED saying that wasnât their website because the advertisement was incorrect. The first visit, I ordered the same exact way, and no problem so I knew she was lying. She mentioned the owner. I asked her to call the owner and she said, in a nasty tone, â Iâm not calling the owner for thisâ. I told her, there is no way the owner would except this kind of behavior. She took my order as if she was making it right. When the young man called me to the counter, he said I had to pay again. I said no I do not. I explained to her that had I known that would be the case, I wouldnât have allowed her to have another dish made. That was a waste of food (owner shouldnât be happy) and time (the poor workers). She clearly have bad management skills. Unlearned and plain ole STUPID. She failed to tell me what she was doing fully. I left the food on the counter. She said they couldnât afford to lose money. I thought that was so pathetic to handle a customer like that. First off, this is my second time visiting Rome. The last time I was here was 12 years ago when I graduated and even then this town spooked me out. I would love to think this is a all right racist town but I wonât, Iâll accept it as pure ignorance. Sheâs a disgrace to the ownerâs establishment. Itâs clear that not many African Americans are welcome there because each time I visit not one African American face was visible. I see why. I watched how she catered to her own. I saw racism all in her eyes. She need a job...
Read moreWe ate here tonight because we have eaten here in the past, and the pasta dishes had previously been decent. Tonight, not so much. The restaurant was not busy, around 7pm. We were sat, but it took a long time for a waitress to come and take even a drink order. Less than 2 weeks ago, I had ordered chicken picatta, one of my favorite Italian dishes as a take out item, and, as usual, thoroughly enjoyed. Tonight, mysteriously, that dish had disappeared from the menu. When I asked the waitress, she told us that the menu had been revised, as of today. Ok, Iâm disappointed, but, things change we ordered a Coke and a Diet Coke, only to be told they were out of Coke. Strike 2. One of us ordered the penne carbonara with grilled chicken, and the other ordered the Sunday feature, the baked spaghetti with meat sauce. Service is extremely slow, especially considering there are very, very, few people in the restaurant, and very few take out orders. Our food finally arrives, and the penne carbonara could best be described as an amateur attempt at chicken Alfredo, with less flavor. The baked spaghetti with meat sauce is devoid of any seasoning at all. Very sad. The waitress was busy doing side work, even interrupting our dinner to refill table items. After waiting for a long time, I finally had to call out to the waitress (still involved in side work) to get the check. This was a extremely disappointing experience, and we will not be back. There are...
