āļøāļøāļø | Honest Review of The Grove on LaVista Road We recently visited The Grove on LaVista Road, and overall, I'd rate the experience 3 out of 5 stars. The atmosphere of the restaurant definitely fits the tavern style — it's cozy but also quite dark. Honestly, it was so dim that it was difficult to even see my food clearly, and a little more lighting would really improve the dining experience. On the positive side, the wait staff was excellent. They were prompt, attentive, and got our orders out very quickly. The buffalo shrimp and Asian spring rolls were both delicious and well-executed — probably the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the main courses were disappointing. I ordered the grouper sandwich, but the fish served was clearly not grouper. As a native Floridian with 59 years of eating grouper, I can confidently say this was not it. The texture was dense, the flavor flat, and the color was greyish — it resembled a freshwater fish like trout much more than any grouper I’ve ever had. I didn’t want to cause a scene about it, but it was definitely a letdown. My wife ordered the crab cakes, and while they were cooked well, they were extremely bland. The coleslaw was good, and the sauces served with the dishes were flavorful, but overall, the main food lacked seasoning and depth. I've even attached pictures of the ā€œgrouperā€ for anyone curious — it speaks for itself. Final thoughts: While there are some strong points (great staff, good appetizers, tasty sauces), the overall lack of seasoning and the issue with fish mislabeling would make it hard for me to recommend a return visit. There’s potential here, but for now, it's not a place I would choose again.

This review is based on my takeout experience. When I came in to pick up my order the staff was friendly and attentive. After I left I realized they didn’t have me my drink .. I called to request a refund and was told that might not be possible if I ordered via a mobile app . I told them I used the online ordering link through their website and the asked me to call back while they talked to their manager. I decided to let that go because it was only a few bucks . When I arrived home I was so disappointed at the quality of everything the fries were the only thing edible. The wings looked undercooked and some pieces still had actual feathers 🪶 . The burger poorly put together clearly a frozen bubbah burger just tasted oily and awfully executed. Maybe if I dinned in my experience would have been better but sadly almost my entire meal went straight to the trash .

I gave 2 stars because my previous visits were fine however my recent visit was bad. The waitress Kaitlyn was unfriendly and unattentive the whole time. I believe she may have had a racial bias towards my family and I. Our food took extremely long although there were very few customers dining in at that time. I paid for my service but, did not leave a tip. I decided that day I would not ever return. A week later my charge card statement showed a larger amount charged then my bill. Kaitlyn decided to pay herself a tip. This is called stealing and it is FRAUD! It is disappointing to know someone representing an establishment has no integrity. I called the restaurant and spoke with Robert. He apologized and offer to refund me my whole bill . I hope that this was an isolated incident and this waitress Kaitlyn has not done this before to customers. She has no integrity and should not be trusted.

Update... The owners response today is bogus! I called you last week and your "investigation" concluded that day. You processed a refund for the unauthorized charge and sent me a text not even a phone call asking me can the waitress that is an adult give me an apology statement for stealing my money. Not only am I offended that you think that is acceptable but, it also shows the morals of what your company represents. You could care less about my family and I feeling discriminated against or about the money I spend to patronize your company. Your response speaks volumes. It shows me that not only does the waitress have no integrity but, your company as a whole. To continue to employ a staff member that steals from the customer states you have no morals! I will take my business else where, where the...

This was my first time visiting. I got a to go order for me and my coworkers. I got a couple of wraps(one with bacon one without) a sandwich and I ordered fried mozzarella balls. The food was ready in a timely manner BUT… They switched the wraps(I knew because we ordered different sides) which I didn’t realize till after I had them remake it because when I went to eat mine it had bacon on it (this is no big deal and was fixed fast) but then when I got the food back to my coworkers I bit into what was suppose to be a mozzarella ball and got something totally different … something with what looked like rice and peas on the inside so that was totally wrong then my coworker’s sandwich that was suppose to come with bacon did not have any bacon and looked like they pulled some fake deli meat off the shelf and threw it on some basic bread. And they forgot the ketchup for my other coworkers tots(again not a huge deal but add it to everything else it was frustrating)

I will say my chicken caeser wrap was good… the fries were good… the ranch for my fries was AMAZING AND the customer service was great. We called and spoke to the manager and he made everything right so I will definitely give this place another try in the future! Maybe they had some new cooks or were just having a rough day(it was Friday the 13th🄓) AND the place was extremely busy so they clearly are doing something right. Looking forward to trying some...
