this place was very classless, with horrible management , poor customer service. First i would like to start out with when me and my company walked in we werent greeted we were starred at thankfully we had a reservation. our server wasn't bad but we could tell she was either new or unfamiliar with knowledge of the menu. I order the lobster dip appetizer (that was delicious, while I'm being honest.) It was served hot and the wait wasnt too long. I ordered the penne alla vodka with steak added. The server asked me HOW DID I WANT MY STEAK COOKED? And I ordered it MEDIUM WELL. She never stated when ordering this dish that all meats are served medium RARE!! Neither is it stated on the menu. when I received my dish my meat was undercooked red and pink!! When I specifically asked for MEDIUM WELL which should have been very thin slightly pink center NOT RAW UNDERCOOKED!! I spoke with my waitress informing her I wasn't pleased then she told me , the meats are prepared medium rare in pasta dishes I asked the server to show me where was that stated on the menu because if I knew that I wouldn't have ordered that. And it needs to be put on the menu if that's the case, to for warn customers that they don't have a choice on how their steak will be cooked,it will be served medium rare! The waitress attempted to accommodate me, she asked did I want a different entree, or what would I like done about the situation. I did like the penne alla vodka but I would of liked for my meat to be cooked longer, the waitress proceeded to say when pasta dishes are made at that restaurant the meats are cooked medium rare... well why would the waitress ask me how would I liked my steak cooked if it was going to be served to me how ever the recipe or restaurant calls for,not what the customer requested and has to pay for! I then told her I would like another steak to be cooked well done. The lady manager came to the table with no compassion or remorse for the issue at hand. She advised she would take the meat off my plate and take it back into the kitchen to be cooked more, that is unsanitary. She then told me well you have a Togo box you can take it with you. I will not pay for something that wasnt properly cooked correctly nor was it cooked to my liking as asked when the order was put in. My total came to $67 .and some change I politely deducted the $12.95 for the steak I was charged for and left the other $53 on the table along with the under cooked meat and the pasta penne. I proceed to call the police because the environment became hostile and I was scared for my life. The police never showed and when I called back 911 dispatch told me it would be a second for an officer to come I told them I was leaving because I was afraid and being harassed by the staff and management I called the police for HELP and that's just crazy how law enforcement never showed up to help come to a conclusion or to deescalate the situation. The entire staff followed me out the door unprofessionally while it still was other customers in the restaurant. They were screaming and yelling as If I walked out on my ticket and I didn't! I had already told the manger I wasn't paying for their mistake and would gladly pay for everything else. They proceed to get my tag number and yell and be GHETTO in the parking lot. This place seems to be racist from the start!! I tried to be a great guest but the poor management and lack of customer service skills made my experience horrible. This place was very tasteless and seems like the only way you would get good service and treat properly is if you are Caucasian. That experience was embarrassing and I hope no one else has to experience...
Read moreMy wife and I attended the steakhouse on whitemarsh island on 4/23/21 Let me start with my wife meal; she had the shrimp diablo , the shrimp was over cook and rubbery, the pasta was chewy like old leather, the red sauces was plain and it was like someone just open up a can of tomato sauces and empty it out on the pasta and when the server did make it back to the table to refile my wife class, she filled it with water instead of sprite, we dine out and eat out at a lot nice places. my wife did not want me to say anything ,she said we will never eat their again and to let our friends know about our experience. Now my meal; I order the prime rib at first with some type of corn and red potatoes, the plate came out as thought the food was thrown on with no consideration for presentation, I sent it back and ask them to separate it. When I go to a steakhouse I want a steak, I order the prime rib medium rare , the steak came back medium, plain no season, it was like tasting a sheet of notebook paper right out of the package and that is how the steak came to the table as well, I sent my meal back and so I had them bring me out the ribeye, now that came out cook almost perfect. I feel they rush it to the table and that is why the over seasoning cover up a perfect steak, it was cook to my liken, but it was not 14oz maybe 7 or 8oz , the music was fine, but it was too loud and you could barely hold a conversation with you company and enjoy a meal. As a train chef I peak and look at other table food and presentation, their food look good coming out. I have many friends who are white and have eaten there and they gave it great reviews, that what prompted us to try it, we were the only blacks in the restaurants , maybe this is why our food came out so bad and maybe this is why someone try to explain to me how a steak is suppose to be cook and season. this is not the first place that we have experience bad services on whitemarsh or on Tybee Island and have witness other black family receiving that same treatment while walking into a all white establishment to eat. I tried to reach out to this place before writing this, but no reply, the other place, that I not mention, the owner said he was not aware of it, so I will venture into his place to see if the changes were made to make all welcome. Read moreFinally!!! Patsy and I had the opportunity to dine at "The Steakhouse on Whitemarsh Island" last night .... and I have to admit it was only because we had received a Christmas Gift Card .... that we went.
Well, from the warm and friendly greeting as we walked through the door .... to the very pleasing visual inviting layout of roomy tables, booths and eye catching art works on the walls .... along with the upscale table setting.... the mood for the dining experience was set.
My expectations were only moderate for what we were about to experience...... what a wonderful Christmas surprise awaited us .... starting with the Shrimp Cocktails, Awesome Bruschetta a classic Italian appetizer ....Toasted bread topped with tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, garlic, and fresh basil topped with a high-quality balsamic vinegar along with some melt in your mouth sliced filet steak ..... sooo good.
We passed on their salads .... anyone that knows me .... knows Bobby don't do greens!!!
Then came our entree's.... Patsy had the Perfectly prepared Filet Mignon..... with Roasted Potatoes and asparagus spears .....
I had the Ribeye..... medium Rare... topped with Lobster claw meat and Shrimp.... Roasted Potatoes and more asparagus (which immediately got transferred to Patsy's plate).....
The presentation of the plates was true fine dining quality.... and the seasoning and flavors were mouth watering from the first bite until the very last one ( which you wanted to eat slowly to make it last longer... knowing you were coming to the end)......
We both were smiling, giggling and holding hands throughout the experience .... like the two teenagers we thought we were as this brought back memories from dates a long time ago ....
No room for Desserts on this trip .... but we will return (no gift card required). ... and we will be bringing family & friends.
Thanks again to the staff & chef for a very awesome Birthday experience for my wife Patsy .... that I got to enjoy the blessing of escorting there.
Bon...
