My family was visiting me from California and I was just ranting and raving about how great the food was here as I eat here for lunch regularly. Our drink orders were immediately taken but didn't arrive until 10 minutes after we sat down. We were supposed to receive a booster seat for my daughter that never came. We sat at the restaurant for about 35 minutes before our order was taken. A Caucasian family sat down after us and their order was taken by the owner and they were eating when the owner finally sent her 9 year old son to take our order. I honestly feel terrible that I brought my family out to this place and they felt as if they were discriminated against because they are African American. We left before our order could be taken. It would behoove you to stop being cheap and hire some people of age to take orders and take orders from tables as they arrive. You lost money on a table of 7 patrons. I love your food but you have officially put a damper on my parent's visit and truly upset my loved ones and I don't know that it can...
Read moreI've been a few times since they opened (I live in Utah and visit a few times a year) at this location and for the most part have enjoyed their dishes. After leaving the beach I stopped here for the vegetable tempura and cali rolls. The rolls were good, the wasabi bland. The tempura seemed to have an 'old oil' taste to it and that leeches out any flavor it should have and left an aftertaste.
I tried the mushroom soup once, it was quite bland with a gross aftertaste, so tried the miso this time. It was ok but bland.
The young man they have working the front seems to have lost all friendliness since the first visit and this particular visit he was extra terse. He's a kid and I'm sure a long day at work took it out of him (it was around 9 or 9:30pm I believe) so I'm not going to gripe about him so much as warn future guests to be mindful of his age.
All in all, I may go again if my DIL or son chooses to go but otherwise, if...
Read moreI ordered sesame chicken and my wife ordered General Tso chicken. The food was disappointing to say the least. I thought I would be getting delicious fried rice with deep fried chicken in sesame sauce. Instead I got a rectangular container full of soy sauce, mushrooms, over cooked chicken cube cut with broccoli. This place wasted my $22 and I will NOT be going back. My wife who is a great cook could not even finish her meal. I wanted to try something new and local but came away with food that was literally thrown in the trash container. Utterly disgusting right now and I will NOT recommend this establishment to any patron! Buyer Beware! If you are interested in pounds of soy sauce and mushrooms thrown in your rectangular Tupperware than go for it! Another reason why Kobe still runs the Japanese Restaurant business on the island. I have said my peace and I hope everyone will listen. ...
