EDIT: I hate to edit this review, especially because we live in Germantown and want to support local, but after our last visit, we will never be back. The restaurant opens at 7am. So, my husband and I show up at 7am. The hostess/waitress immediately started grumbling when we came in, as they were not "Ready" yet. She finally seated us and got back to getting the restaurant ready, even though they should have been ready by 7am. The kitchen staff was being extremely loud, carrying on conversations about how they "don't get paid enough for this" with plenty of expletives. One employee went back and said "hey we have customers in here." One of the kitchen staff replied "are you serious?? it isn't even 7am yet!" I checked my phone, it was indeed after 7am. We ended up staying for some reason, and I ordered the weekly special. When the waitress gave the kitchen my order, he complained about how he didn't even know how to make it and he will "do his best". My order did indeed come out wrong and missing ingredients. We should have gotten up and left like so many other people apparently have been doing. This makes me so sad because I had high hopes for this place. But I doubt they will make it very long. Best of luck, though.

First review: Alleyway Cafe opened very shortly after my husband and I bought our first home in Germantown, and we are so thankful it did. The staff is always welcoming and on top of it when it comes to service. The food is absolutely wonderful, especially the house made beer cheese! The restaurant is always clean and the seating options are very comfortable. I urge everyone to try this place once, twice, and then you...

The Good: First impression is good. A nice, diner-type, home-town atmosphere. The menu has lots of yummy options for breakfast and lunch, lots of comfort food, the servers are nice, the food is good with some exceptions. The Bad: The wait is a little ridiculous, my husband and I stood for 15 minutes before being seated, it wouldn't have taken a second to sit us at one of the two booths available right in front of us, plus the whole back was empty, the servers kept walking right past us without saying a word. Once seated we ordered our drinks and an appetizer, soup and the pretzel and beer cheese appetizer, I said please bring the soup out right away (if you could please), it took forever to get, they forgot to give me a spoon, it took forever to get one, by the time I got it, my soup was cold, has to send it back, they finally took our lunch order, when it arrived after waiting almost 30 minutes, everything was cold and had to be sent back, the servers (while sweet and nice) were young and inexperienced, no one overseeing if customers were adequately taken care of. The fly population is out of control every time we go there, we've been there several times, each time every customer at every table keeps shewing away flies. While we love Germantown and love this little restaurant, it could be run so much more efficiently if they take care of these problems. We'll come again a time or to see if anything changes and hopefully it will be a better experience because we really...

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This restaurant doesn't support our troops or veterans. My family and I decided to eat here for Father's Day. They were having a buffet and I thought it was the perfect place to take my husband to and our children. What we walled into was a rude manager that treated the staff poorly. The food was cold, undercooked, had a sour taste like the food was old, etc. I saw many tables leave before they even got their food. It was just a nightmare. After receiving our bill for over $60 for 2 adults, 1 child, and a baby, the price was just way too much for the experience we had with the food. We then asked for military discount to come and find out they do not offer any kind of discount to our troops, former military, and veterans. Don't forget who FOUGHT for your freedom. I will never support a business that doesn't support the military. The owners clearly don't know how to run a business and leaves it to a manager who has no training or experience being management. I will never give this business my time or money anymore. I hope the doors close for good here. That is...

Horrible experience. Our server was nice but seemed loopy and on something. Very forgetful to the point she lacked common sense. Asked what the soup of the day was three times each time she forgot and we had to very bluntly ask for her to go on a sole mission for this Information just to be told there was none. After waiting an hour for our to go order we started to get upset. There was only two other tables of customers and there were four servers. They were at no means busy and each employee looked sedated and drugged barely even standing up straight. My rookie move was not checking the order before leaving. My eggs Benedict had no hollandaise which I ordered extra of. It was just a soggy muffin floating in a milky water with what appear to be microwaved "poached" egg. Also a gray piece of ham instead of canadian bacon. Each meal was horribly wrong and inedible. In a move I have never done I promptly picked up the phone to call this business. Once saying my complaint I was swiftly hung up on without a word. The menu looked like it was going to be amazing too. What a let down.

In town for work and the locals told us about Alleyway Cafe, and asked if we liked fried potatoes and onions? Yes we do! The western omelette and pancakes were also fantastic. And our waitress was very helpful and everyone was so welcoming. We will definitely be back for the lunch menu.
