Ava’s Cuisine & Catering II — Restaurant in Gibsonville

They have 2 locations, The takeout and the dine-in. my experience is at this location the Dine-in. I was treated to Sunday dinner by my mother and Aunt. So this is my first time here and my visit was an unhappy experience my aunt and my mother who’ve been here four times already was familiar how the food taste and the service, after the waiter took our tables order and we watched every other table get served waited on Take out boxes receive their bill and we have not yet received our food. My mother and my aunt was like this is not like them. We’ve been waiting for over 30 minutes. My mother got attention of another waiter and said can you tell our waiter where is our food? The waiter came to our table and apologize and said she forgot to put our order in, but she would give us All something for the inconvenience so we all gave our own individual appetizers and she said ok and walked away. The manager came back and said we’re unable to give y’all all your own each appetizer but we can give you a shared appetizer. That’s not what The waiter said but OK. So at the waiting additional 20 minutes for the appetizer to come out, my aunt and my mother was like our drinks have not been refreshed we haven’t been checked on. This bothered me because our waiter was not attentive to us at all, so after the appetizers came out after the 20 minute wait my mother called for the manager again for our waiter not being attentive, not refreshing our drinks not checking on us and she just put her complaint in with the manager. After waiting additional 25 minutes for the food to come out, my mother received just partial of her food missing sides, my mother got her pork chop dish with no sides, and we was like where’s the sides? Our family kind of laughed and said they was like just take this lady something sheesh. Our food finally came out my mother and my aunt’s food was good They had fried chicken, corn cabbage. My mother had mashed potatoes and pork chops. I had oxtails that was very dry. Didn’t have no gravy. I borrowed gravy for my aunt that she had for her rice. The macaroni cheese was dry. My mother said it normally not that dry is very cheesy gooey, but this time it was not so my experience was a very unhappy one my mother and my aunt assured me this normally not like this. I requested butter for my yams so I waited 12 minutes for butter while I watch my waiter stop at other tables and sitting at the register looking at receipts with her coworkers, laughing and talking while I’m still waiting on my butter so I can eat my food I waved my hand to get her attention and she made the face like yikes. With all this being said, will I go back absolutely not do I recommend absolutely not is it worth the value for the food absolutely not I had some oxtails that was $25 that was dry without gravy, and dry...

I have visited this establishment twice and I was disappointed with the food, as I had heard such good things about it. The first time we went, they had just opened for the day (roughly around noonish on a Thursday). I got the fried pork chops, mac and cheese, yams and cabbage. The cabbage, yams and mac and cheese was lukewarm which I did not like. I'm expecting hot food. The pork chop was the hottest thing on my plate and that was cooked in old grease (you could tell by how dark the chops were and the taste). The second time I went was around 6pm on a Friday nite. I got the spinach dip, whiting and potato salad. I was served lukewarm spinach dip (which surprised me because you had to melt the cheese on the top) old, dark brown super soggy cabbage and whiting that had absolutely NO flavor. The waitress swapped out my cabbage for collards and they were ok. We had 2 other ladies join us later and they got cabbage as one of their sides, but their cabbage was fresh, green and crisp. When asked about it the waitress said they had just made a fresh batch. I said so we got old cabbage? She said well I know they just made a fresh batch. The manager (a male) did come back and asked how everything was and one of the ladies said everything was good....but it was not. My bill was $40, but I feel as if I wasted $35 on that entire meal. I say $35 because the potato salad was the best thing out of that entire meal. Lukewarm food, old food (the cabbage that should have NEVER left the kitchen) and bland fish is just unacceptable...

Attempted to try this place out but they made it impossible. My family and I arrived and were immediately sat, and that is the only nice thing i can say. We were seated, met our server and ordered drinks, 20 minutes later i got my drink and we ordered food, - 30 minutes later the server approached the table and said “sorry your food is taking so long, there is a big party but I’m checking on it” - After an hour and watching people who came in much later than us get their food, we asked to speak to our server who had disappeared or a manager. She never put the order in. Which happens but why come lie to our face? We were not upset but the manager attempted to minimize the entire situation and ignored us asking for the check. When brought up, There was zero accountability from her or the manager and we were lied to again by the manager saying our food would be “out in 5 minutes” before he also disappeared. The server never came back to the table. These people need to get it together, no sense of urgency or professionalism and the blatant lies and excuses from your management staff. Can’t speak to food because i never received it but the service is...
