Einstein Bros. Bagels — Restaurant in Gilbert

I am a big fan of Einstein bagels. I visit their stores regularly. At least once a week. Sometimes more. Many of their stores across the valley - Mesa, Gilbert, San Tan, Glendale...

The service at the Mesa store is consistently the absolute worst. The staff is always rude, grumpy, short, and to top it off inefficient.

Today at 6:05 AM I was the only customer in the store. Everyone greeted me, said hello, knew I was there, but then completely ignored me and my request for a dozen bagels.

Instead they proceeded to help the person who came into the store after me first.

I also ordered a lox sandwich, and I dislike waste, but because they did not communicate with me, or each other, they had to make the sandwich again because it was not toasted, and not on the correct bagel.

And to make matters worse, they blamed me for the mistakes. I absolutely hate this store, and will never go to it again. I will travel an extra 5 miles to visit another store before ever going to this location again.

If I could give a million stars I would. I truly cannot even express how amazing this Einstein’s Bagels is. The Manager Lee is absolutely incredible and truly goes above and beyond. I am pregnant and I was REALLY craving a caramel Frappuccino. I wasn’t feeling well, so I decided to order the Frappuccino to be delivered from DoorDash. I ordered a bagel and muffin as well, to make the giant DoorDash fees a little more worth it. Well the DoorDash driver forgets the Frappuccino- the whole reason I made the order to begin with! The DoorDash driver refused to take accountability and go get the frappe, and instead the DoorDash driver just told me to figure it out with Einstein’s. Well I call Einstein’s and tell them I’m pregnant and craving this Frappuccino and that I’m not really sure what to do. Well the Manager Lee actually asks one of his employees to drive me the Frappuccino!!! He sent this incredibly nice lady named Jan. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced this kind of above and beyond customer service in my life. So thank you so much Jan and Lee for making this pregnant mama...

Bagels always great, been coming here for almost 20 years. It was my sisters first job in high school. I’m shocked at how horrible the service is here. The rudest folks working, of course a few exceptions, but I can’t think of the last time I had a good experience here. I never write bad reviews, but came today and felt inclined. This is probably my last visit, I’m done paying $20 for three bagels and having them literally thrown towards me… I say thank you to each person who I encounter, not one reply. I ask cashier how they are, nothing. It’s almost like the twilight zone in this place. Also Im done being asked to tip someone for DOING THEIR JOB and while giving horrible service. I didn’t get bagels sliced or toasted, the spread on the side; not a hard order, yet treated like I was an inconvenience. No line, not busy so not quite sure why the entire place looked gross. This place has gone down...
