If you want a step up from Filiberto's without a price increase, go to Yuliana's Mexican Food. Their ingredients and their recipes are top notch and satisfying. Lots of trade workers come here for a solid meal and I'm one of them. I've been here a few times now. If you're looking for upscale, bye, Felicia! The atmosphere is not fancy and the service is decent but not winery grade. This place is as homey as it gets with touches of Mexican heritage on the walls like an Aztecan painting and mini clay pots. I miss these restaurants from California and it felt good to be in one again. This is a restaurant with pride for their home country and their delicious offerings showcase the beautiful flavors they have to offer us here in the states. Yuliana's is everything I expect when I want to eat at a hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint for some tasty tacos or a combo plate of your favorite items you can't seem to choose between. I ordered the #2 - two shredded beef tacos (freshly fried corn shells) with a double side of their homemade refried beans. I've had their horchata as well as their jamaica and it is just as good as you'd hope for after a long day at work. I don't think you'll be disappointed with anything you order here. Try their breakfast burritos and their meat burritos. My coworkers get them every time and they are obsessed. When I'm in the area on the weekends, I'm going after their menudo, because let's face it, I'm a caldo fanatic. I hope you can make it at least once to try something you've been craving lately. You...
Read moreHave never been to a Mexican food restaurant we didn't like nor ever written a negative restaurant review.... until now This place wins both those first time awards. Food lacked flavor. Maybe that's why we were offered lots of sauce. Wife was served the wrong thing and they initially argued over making it right, even though no price difference was involved. We SWEAT the entire meal. It was 109 degrees outside and they have the thermostat showing 85 degrees, during prime time dinner hour, about 5:30. They said that's just the way it is (not that it was currently broken or needing maintenance). Asked for water and it was warm. We're not even done with the meal and my wife's stomach is hurting. She couldn't even eat half her meal. Only came here because another Mexican restaurant we were highly recommended to go to ended up being closed on Sundays. Really wishing we had gone anywhere...
Read moreHave tried it twice with the same experience both times.
Selection is really good, plenty of options. Prices are reasonable. They seem a bit high at first, but the amount of food given is well above average for this type of place so it makes it a pretty good deal. Seasoning / flavor is really good as well.
My biggest complaint is that both times we've had it(both to go orders), stuff was missed. The first time it was just a side of guac, so I didn't think much about it as it was just an irritant/not someone's meal. Second time they forgot a $3.25 taco. Unfortunately theyve got no way to resolve it (refund, etc) without driving all the way back to the store to get it which is super frustrating on a to go order when everyone's food will be cold by the time I make a round trip to go get it. I was also frustrated that they didn't...
