I am only giving Patrick's one star because I have to in order to voice my experience during Laconia Bike Week this year. Went there late Friday night because our groups of 9 people hadn't gone since we got there. We go every year and always have a great time, we are not young by any means, I am 59 years old and the youngest is 47. We had a 30 minute wait for our table, not a problem, so, we went to the bar for a drink.
The place was crowded, but not that busy. I wanted to buy a round for us, go to the bar, I ordered, from one of the female bartenders, the round of drinks, she snapped, "I have to see who I'm serving", I pointed out everyone standing behind me, mind you I have two guys in our group that stand 6'6 and 6'5 respectively. This, was not good enough for her. She again says in a more aggressive tone that she needs to see everyone getting a drink, everyone is gathered behind me to get their free drink! One of my friends steps in because he is has overheard how rude she had treated me. At this point everyone moved closer to the bar to overhear also. We did get our drinks, but not by me, I had given up.
I don't know if this bartender likes bikers or if the night had been too hectic for her bar experience, nor do I care, she is a supposed bartender.
I have traveled throughout the USA attending different "Bike" weeks and I have never been treated like that. We, as a group, spend thousands of our hard earned dollars to flood the local economy during these events, and we like doing it year after year.
Thank God our pregnant food waitress was awesome and we showed our gratitude through our tip. She saved your disaster of a night.
Mind you this was my experience with this authoritative female bartender. As I stated before I don't know nor do I care what brought on her attitude all I can say is that I will never go to Patrick's Pub again. And, again, they used to be one of the nicest places to go during this event, and, while vacationing with my family...
Read moreDisappointing experience with our family on a vacation. We had 3 small legally registered service dogs and when getting seated we told the manager and she was immediately slightly unfriendly about the situation. Her reactions were not customer friendly and made us a bit uncomfortable, especially when she broke the law and wanted to know if we had the correct papers. NH laws prohibits public accommodations locations to ask anything other than if the animals are to support a disability, and the tasks the animals are trained to perform. It is against the law to ask for legal documentation. We got seated and ordered appetizers but one of our pups was just barking spontaneously and when the waitress was placing our appetizers on our table the manager told us other customers were complaining about dog barking and if it continues we would have to leave. This is also not right as the law states we can be asked to leave if the animals are barking loudly at or intimidating other customers, and this was not the case. We were immediately turned off by her comment. Our dogs were not barking at anyone and was only barking sparsely. We just did not feel comfortable to eat the rest of our meal so we stopped with appetizers and drinks and decided to leave. Very disappointed since we came back to this place to reminisce when my husband used to come here on family trips to NH. We will never return to Patrick’s Pub and will also never recommend it to anyone . The only silver lining was Our waitress Julia. She was extremely polite and a great waitress. We would absolutely request her if she was working at another...
Read moreWe have been to Patrick's Pub in Guilford, NH in the past & have always enjoyed ourselves. This visit was during the Covid "season ". Our daughter called for reservations & was told 7:15 p.m. The hostess informed us that we would be called if an earlier time became available. We arrived around 7:25 & after waiting maybe 10 minutes we were shown to our table. Patrick's has transformed part of their parking lot into outdoor seating, which was great for us. Tammy was our server & was quick & efficient. They had run out of my favorite beer, but there were many comparable choices. Our Irish son in law ordered fish & chips which he thoroughly enjoyed. Our daughter got the baked haddock with 2 sides & she was delighted, a large portion of haddock with 2 sides well cooked. My husband ordered the Fishermen's chowder which he has gotten in the past & the portion was tremendous. He absolutely loves this dish & was so happy that its still on the menu. Thick stew & filled with shrimp, fish, scallops, & potatoes. I ordered the bacon sauteed onions hamburger. It was either 6 or 8 ounces, way too big to finish it. Very tasty. The menu was interesting & varied & we had a hard time choosing our entrees. We were offered dessert but we all were comfortably full. I said to the table that I remembered the experience of going out to dinner with family & friends & talking & drinking together. We enjoyed ourselves & were so happy that Patrick's Pub was open...
