When we arrived at this location my first thought was that it hadn't received any attention in a long time, a little sprucing up would go a long way. The waitress that seated us was very friendly and the food bar appeared fresh. There were only a handful of tables occupied despite it being about 12:30 on a Sunday. As we began to eat a couple came in with a large, long haired dog wagging its tail. It did not appear to behave like a service animal. As I tried to process this, the waitress proceeded to seat the couple directly behind us, in the booth closest to the buffet. The dog, who was leashed by the woman upon entering, now had its front paws on the man, now sitting in the booth, and back legs on the floor inches from me. He rubbed, patted, and loved on the dog before finally making it get all four on the floor. Then, as I tried to eat my salad, the dog's hairy tail began to wag, brushing against my arm repeatedly. Lunch was over. My wife and I rose to leave and the waitress asked if we were finished and gave me the bill. When I got to the checkout I was still in shock, angry, and hungry. The cashier asked if everything was alright, as they often do. I told her no, there was a dog seated next to me and I couldn't finish my food. I also asked for the manager's number. She switched places with another cashier so she could give me the information and the other one could finish ringing me up! The number of the owner was given and apparently the manager was standing behind the two cashiers and had been there the whole time so the cashier offered to let us speak to her. We told her what was going on, obviously upset, and the response was very defensive, no apology, no offer to reseat us or refund our money. My wife called the owner's number the following day and left a message to which there has still been no reponse almost 2 weeks later. I have no problem sharing space with a service animal. These animals are trained not only the serve their owner, but also to be inconspicuous in these types of settings and well behaved. There were many options as to where any incoming patrons could have been seated, next to the buffet would certainly not have been my first choice for an animal. Lastly, there was no apology by any of the staff or owner and I paid full price for a meal I was...
Read moreI went to eat at Shoney’s in Glasgow Ky. I got my food from the bar and came back to my table. I didn’t have any silverware to eat with and I didn’t have my drink. I waited longer then 5 minutes. My waitress was standing talking on her phone and laughing with the other waitresses. I had to get up and go tell my waitress that I need my silverware and my drink. She said, oh I forgot. The manager heard me and her talking. She never came back to my table to give me a refill on my drink or any napkins. I watched her and the other waitresses they never went to ask if any one needed a refill or any thing. They was standing talking and laughing and on their phones. There was a man setting at the bar he was getting up and going around the counter refilling his own coffee and getting other things where the waitresses works. He was handling the coffee and touching every thing. It wasn’t right that they would have that man or any customers behind the counter touching every thing with his hands with No mask on. I can understand why they only had 4 customers at lunch time. The food on the bar was cold and know one attended taking care of the food. I called the manager when I left he said he would talk to the waitresses. I told him that he needs to be watching them at all times and not be laughing and talking with them and they need to be working and take care of their customer. Every day after that I would past Shoney’s and maybe 1 or 2 cars was in the parking lot. Me and my family will never go back there and waist our money. I would not recommend any one to go there to eat. Thanks and...
Read moreThe buffet was quite expensive for what is offered:
$13.99 per person - two adults and 2 teenagers ages 13 and 14
Fish and chicken, no BBQ, no steak, no meatloaf or many other meat options Desserts are limited and no cookies, cakes, brownies, puddings, etc OR ice cream machines The food was fresh but... some of the potatoes were dried out and had lumps in them and the ones on the left side of the buffet near the salad bar were fresh, but overall, that is probably because the potatoes were sitting there awhile which could happen from that and people not wanting mashed potatoes.
The waitress was kinda unfriendly and our silverware took 5 minutes to get to the table, we had to wait 5 more minutes on drinks as the workers talked when our drinks became empty.
Overall, a 3 out of 5, not awesome, but if they had more options for food options, it wouldn't be too bad for the price, otherwise, I'l take my business to golden corral which has more offerings for about 1 to 2 dollars more in Richmond, Kentucky. The workers at Golden Corral are more friendly too, waitresses were fast at responding to my table prior there and are helpful if I need help with anything like a Golden Corral To-Go order which they helped me with prior for my oldest daughter that is 14. :)
