First visit since moving to the side of town. We arrived early enough on a Sunday so there was no wait, we were seated at a table next to the door to the patio which was left open and made for an interesting contrast of AC on one side and a blast of heat from the other.
The decor and vibe are reminiscent of Snooze and was quite pleasant. Our server greeted us in a timely manor and was also very pleasant. The food took a long time to come out but was mostly very good.... the exception being my over easy eggs coming out more medium +.
The problem I had with this location is service. I was a restaurant manager for 18 years and a notice a lot of things that most people are oblivious to or do not care about.
Our server, while pleasant, was an A-B server, probably new... she would move from A-B with a singular purpose and ignore everything going on around her. If she went to refill a table's water she would do just the one table and not also carry a coffee pot and check her whole station. She checked on us after we were halfway done eating and left an empty glass full of trash on the table and walked away.
I began to notice this behavior with other staff members including the managers. One of the manager was walking around with water and coffee but walked right past us with my coffee cup sitting empty at the edge of the table facing her. The other manager was standing at the host stand chatting with the two hosts and a busier that clearly had nothing better to do (like clearing the aforementioned glass off our table). Everyone in the restaurant aside from two other servers had tunnel vision and could not see the big picture or do more than one thing at a time. After dropping our check our server disappeared for several minutes, the female manager offered to process our payment, bringing a handheld terminal to our table and proceeded to tell me that she couldn't figure out our bill then disappeared again coming back several minutes later. While there (twice) she could have asked us about our experience but elected not to, so here we are instead.
We will likely try again hoping for a more cohesive experience. There is great potential here but if the service isn't better there are plenty of...
Read moreMe and my Mom went to over easy for breakfast we wanted to try it out after grand opening. It was busy that day and we were able to get a seat and they have both booths and tables and a bar near the patio side. It didn’t take long for server to bring us menus and we ordered coffee for both of us. Server gave us time to look at menu and pick what we wanted. I ordered the Corned beef and hash home made with chopped corn beef with potatoes diced and (2) eggs Sunny side up with English muffins with butter and jelly and my Mom ordered a bowl of yogurt with granola with flax seed and chia seed and diced strawberries and apple slices with blueberries and she also ordered side of English muffins with butter and jelly. Both of orders came in within 15 minutes. My dish look great and so, did my moms dish!!! But, my mom forgot that she can’t eat both flax and chia seeds because had issues with digestive issue and the waitress was nice and didn’t know that my moms dish had seeds and took it back and my mom ordered avacado toast with spinach leaves and some weird green leafy stuff it also had seeds but my mom eat the avocados and toast and avoided the weird leafy greens. I enjoyed my breakfast but my mom did not !!! The atmosphere is great!! The decoration you can are cool and mixture of white with yellow color is great looking !!! see pics inside plus my pics of both of our breakfast (original dishes) you can sit outside as well !!! As far as ratings I did like the service from our waitress but why I rated it a (2) stars because both of us got sick after we ate our breakfast it turns out they like to cook canola oil!!! which is cheap but I wouldn’t recommend it !!! Cause both of us to have upset stomach!!! I wouldn’t mind olive, sunflower or vegetable oil to...
Read moreWell, here's an update since my last review of this place. I have been a return customer since first eating here, and I have experienced a sharp decline in service. While I type this, I have immediately noticed a snippy attitude starting with the hostess. Did she wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Honestly, I don't care. Leave your anger at your house...
Secondly, what left a bad taste with me, last time I was here was the manager had to comp my meal because there was a littlerally lack of customer service as I waited for my check so I could just leave, well today (Sunday 4/14) I'm experiencing the same thing. Lack of acknowledgment from the git go, the restaurant is not that busy, there was no line when I got here so it shouldn't take 10 min to get a water or coffee. I get it. This is a good restaurant, but lazy service is no excuse by any measure, especially when the weekends are like playing a professional sport, but in this case, it's high school mentality playing at a pro level. I consider myself a regular here since moving to Arizona from Northern Nevada and Overeasy is not far from my home....
This just keeps getting better... I got my meal, I ordered Steak and Eggs, when I got it I immediately noticed that it sat under the heat lamp a bit too long, the chimchurri sauce was dried out, I ordered my steak med well, well it came out well done and dry 🙄. The butter they bring with the toast or English muffin, they need to stop freezing it, it crumbles and doesn't melt properly.
My recommendation of this place is diminishing, and the worst part is that they haven't been in this location that long. I truly hope the owner sees this review and takes it to heart because it started out great now it's becoming no different tha than...
