The Clubs at Arrowhead Legend Course — Restaurant in Glendale

Groupon had a deal at this facility so since I'm new to golfing in Arizona I decided to try it out. I have a bit of arthritis from military service so I showed up early to spend time at the range warming up and stretching. Immediately after stepping into the club house I was greeted by a bald gentleman who seemed annoyed I was even there and using a Groupon and wasting his time. I had to ask questions since I've never been there before. Very unpleasant service. I get to the range and hit about 10 balls and I get a tee call. My partner hadn't even showed up yet and it was 35 minutes before I was supposed to tee off. My partner showed up 30 min early and had no time to hit 1 ball. The course conditions were great, except for some excess water in a couple holes, and one fairway bunker. The driving range was not impressive, with no flags to hit to, and the driving areas were void of grass and should have been moved 5 feet further in. The limiting markers were so tight it was hard to get any room if you wanted to lay down an aiming stick and stretch out. The greens were in excellent condition. Navigation around the course was easy. If it wasn't for the unpleasant Management, who talked very stern to some older gentleman we were teamed up with about their cart path, I would have rated it higher. On 9/9 I booked a tee time for 9/18 for a friend's birthday party and paid full price entirely up front. There was a note on the tee time saying they were undergoing some construction so only the back 9 would only be available but would be finished 9/16. Since my tee time was two days after this no problem.

Upon arriving at the course we were notified that they were still undergoing construction so the back 9 was the only thing available. Since I paid up front and didn't cancel outside of 24 hours no refund...

Ok, we'll just play the back twice since it's not under construction like the front (lol). The player assistant let us know there might be some grounds crews out doing some minor work but shouldn't be in the way. Turns out the minor work was completely tearing up ALL of the rough around green and the greenside bunkers with excavators and loaders. Additionally when approaching greens we would try to yell to the grounds crew to let them know we were trying to hit on the green. They would look at us and just continue digging with excavators/shovels. I will say it did at an interesting degree of excitement to the game trying not to kill a group of workers with a golf ball while trying to reach the green. Thankfully we only hit their tractor and excavators twice.

This course should not be open in this condition and if they don't finish construction by the time they advise they will they should contact you prior to your tee time and...

I decided to give this course 1 more chance and just like previous experiences they disappointed again! In the past I've had bad experiences here weather its the natzi marshal, huge crowns on most tee boxes or goose droppings all over the course( which ruined a pair of my shoes by staining them). On November 13th I went online, paid for my tee time as they requested due to the Covid pandemic. I went out as a single and they wanted to pair me with another single which I didn't have a problem with until they wanted me to share a cart with him. With the recent spike in the virus cases in AZ I asked for my own cart and they told me that would be a extra $15.00 charge. I play a lot of other courses in AZ and they have never refused or asked for more money to ride by myself. I'm a 52 year old diabetic and considered a high risk for the infection. Not only was I treated rudely by management when I told them about this they wouldn't even refund my money when I told them how irritated I was and didn't want to play. I highly recommend that if your a single golfer to go somewhere else and play a better quality track for the extra $15.00 they want to charge.
