The owner of The Brick wouldn’t honor a gift certificate that we received as part of a promotion from David Hobbs. Said David Hobbs closed and they wouldn’t pay him for the gift certificate. He said it wasn’t his gift certificate yet his logo is on there and obviously received advertising from this. There is no expiration date on the gift certificate either. If we would have known the gift certificate would not have been honored, we would not have eaten there today. He didn’t even offer to take 5 or 10 off the bill when the gift certificate was for $35 dollars. After a brief conversation where I said I was disappointed and didn’t understand, he said he was sorry and he didn’t see it that way. I hate to make complaints but as a business owner myself, I would have at least tried to do something. Don’t advertise your business and then not follow through especially when there is not an expiration date, disclaimer or sign posted in the establishment. All to save a few dollars?? Like I said, he could have offered at least $5 dollars off the bill or something. Not like the place was hurting for business, it was packed when we were there. Feeling a bit disappointed.

I gave two stars only because of Michelle our server she was amazing she tried really hard to make things better.....there was 7 of us ...out of the 7 ...5 sent the food back it was cold... I had a skillet there was no sizzle...I don't know if the cook was having a bad day or maybe 7 was to many to cook for...I also didn't like the way they made the eggs it looked like one instead of two and that definitely wasn't scrambled....sadly to say the Birthday girl sent her food back and didn't want anything else due to we waited over an hour for cold food....Thanks again Michelle for all that you done 👍...

We had the worst experience EVER at this restaurant. The "manager" sat us when we got in and said the server would be right with us. The same "manager" immediately brought us water. We waited quite a bit before the server came over. We ordered our drinks and food (since we had so much time to make a decision while we waited) and then waited for our 2 tap beers & 1 soda. We waited and waited and waited and nothing came. One of our party of three went in and asked if our drinks were coming. Our server said, "we got you." Shortly after, the bartender brought out our beers, apologized for the long wait, and told us the beers were complimentary. We had to ask again for the soda. The bartender brought that out right away along with extra water. We then proceeded to wait for an extraordinary amount of time for our food. Our server was nowhere to be seen, so we politely asked another server standing nearby if she knew how much longer it would be for our three sandwiches. She gave us the snottiest look and said, "I'm not your server, but I guess I can ask." Finally, our server came out and she said they had two big parties and promised us that our order was placed 15 minutes ago. We waited another 15 minutes, and the server showed up with two of our entrees. She asked if we needed anything else. We needed silverware and our third entree. We also asked for the bill right away since we knew that would be a waiting game too. The server grabbed us silverware and said she'd be back. Five minutes later the manager came back with the third entree, which was a burger. The burger had the wrong side (we ordered waffle fries at an upcharge) and had ONE HALF of a ring of onion slice. The server brought the bill, and we mentioned the onion and she just looked at us like we spoke in another language. She drops the bill and we said we didn't get the waffle fries we ordered, so the upcharge shouldn't be included on the bill. She said we won't have to pay for it, with no apology. She started to walk away, and we told her we would like the bill to be corrected now and not when we're ready to pay. She snatched it and left in a huff. The "manager" came back with it and said she removed the upcharge for the wrong side and took the burger off because of its lateness and lack of a full onion slice. We then noticed the beers that the bartender said were complimentary were still on the bill. We waved down our server and told her and she said, "Well, we already took the burger off." As if that negates what the bartender told us 45 minutes ago. The "manager" brings the corrected bill and mutters an insincere apology and starts walking away. We called her back and she said they didn't know the restaurant was going to fill up. THAT was the excuse. Aren't restaurants supposed to fill up at lunch time and the staff should be prepared? Just truly awful service and mediocre food. DON'T...

This isnt a bad choice if youre in the area, the lighting is nice and it's good seating. I will tell you about my experience & warn that maybe it was just an off night.... you will have to see for yourself. So Intially we thought it was smart of the owner to call out some of the fees and explain them on this table menu they had so customers weren't surprised when they received their bill. We also appreciated the suggestion of buying the kitchen staff a drink if food was good - when food is good, we often tip exceptionally well but it doesn't always make sense when the kitchen doesn’t share some of that $ so, again, we appreciated that suggestion & have been doing this at other restaurants since. Fast forward to when we received our bill, we noticed we were "pre-billed" the credit card fee that was explained on that menu card but we were paying cash, we were also hit with the "to-go fee" even though we dined in. We asked if we could take 1 entree to go but that is not quite the same as ordering "to go" & didn't feel like we should have had that fee.... At that point, those fees left us feeling put out instead of us empathizing with the owner as we did Intially- Especially when the food was very basic, not unacceptable, but not above average in any shape or form. Then our waitress was so robotic & inattentive it was actually awkward, so "service" didn't seem to make up for it either. She was checked out mentally before she even took our order, it was very clear she didn't want to be there & didn't enjoy her job. She made a few mistakes with our drink orders but never apologized at any point- her only reaction to any of it was when she literally shrugged her shoulders and said "I don't drink", As if implying she shouldn't know the difference because she doesn't drink. Except we ordered a signiture martini drink off their drink menu that she wrote down as just a martini, so it's not like she "mixed" it incorrectly due to lack of drinking experience, she wrote it down wrong & that is what the bartender made 😆 All that said, we didn't make a big deal of it, it happens, im just explaining for you all but honestly we never had the chance to make a big deal because she literally walked up, no eye contact, dropped the check off and walked away. Never asked if we wanted anything else or none of that - this girl was...

If you read my other reviews, you'll see a lot of what I tend to mention is level of service. I feel like I should explain a bit.

When I go out to eat, I'm not looking for someone to wait on me hand and foot. I'm not looking for someone to be my "best friend" or hover over our table, constantly attending to our needs.

I've been a server, I think I was a good one. What I expect is the kind of thing I strove for.

I wanted to be pleasant, upbeat, and professional. People don't go out to eat to listen to my problems, they're out to have a good time...mostly. All I'm looking for in a server is the same. Polite, upbeat, that sort of thing. If I become a regular, it's nice to be noticed and treated like one, but I'm not expecting any sort of bend-over-backwards effort on their part.

I don't think that's much to ask.

We went to The Brick on what looked to be a slow Sunday morning. We were some of the only people in the place. We were the only ones seated outside. Should have been easy.

Our server treated everything associated with our table like it was a chore, something she had to go out of her way to do.

Was she having a bad day? Dunno. Sure felt like it.

The food was pretty good. Decent value for what we ordered. While I didn't much care of my omelet, everyone else at the table seemed pretty happy with their food, so good marks there.

But an off-server, that can really taint...
