Great small town pizza place! Tried it for the first time this week and we will definitely be back. Our 4 year olds were concerned when their pizza came out and the didn't see the pepperoni. My husband prefers it under the cheese as they did it here but they'd only ever seen it on top before at other places. Once we'd cut up slices for them they were fine and they tore through the entire medium and asked for more! The crust is rather thin in the middle and with the kids declining to eat the bones and only three cheese and pepperoni for toppings the medium pizza wasn't as filling as we might've expected. No one went to bed hungry at all but on our next visit I think I'll order them each a meatball as well.
Husband got a small Hawaiian and seemed to really enjoy it! I do wish there was a more descriptive menu readily available to list the toppings on each of the specialty pizzas. I didn't see any info on the wall menu (which was a bit hard for my old eyes to read also) and also didn't find the info on their website or facebook. I assumed the Hawaiian would be canadian bacon and pineapple but it arrived also containing bacon and what looked like a swirl of perhaps raspberry jam? Whatever it was he enjoyed it and ate 2/3 of his small. I went simple and got plain cheese. I loved the fresh basil in the sauce.
Service was simple and friendly. Ordered at the counter, they brought out the pizzas as they were ready. Paper plates and plasticware was at the counter and a roll of paper towels was at our table to napkins. They offered some canned beers and bottled and canned pop. The kids had bottles of water and that was a bit of a challenge with my messy kids, 20 ounces is a lot to spill. I found some spoonstraws at the counter (not sure why they had them, if they sometimes have snow cones or what?) and used a house key to poke a hole in the lid for the straw - impromptu squeeze bottles. It worked but next time I'll try to...
Read moreOk the atmosphere was not what I was thinking it would be. It's a plain small pizzeria with REAL brick oven pizza that was very very good! I had the trifecta meat pizza and boy oh boy it did not disappoint. Thin, greasy, meaty, cheesy and delicious.. 5 stars on the pizza without a doubt. Service was nothing special. Teenagers taking orders and an older guy making the pizza. I also ordered fried pickles with my pizza thinking I'd get an appetizer before... Well, not the case. The pizza came before the pickles and I was a bit disappointed at that cause I filled up on the pizza long before the pickles came out. BUT .. so when the pickles came out I asked to box them up cause shoot I was full already so I box up my left over pizza, they box my pickles and I go to my car and think ok, I'll try one and HOLY SMOKES they were fresh made looked like homemade seasoning on them. Long striped cut and they were GOOD!! I ate two of them lol so I felt kinda bad for complaining about the wait for the pickles but I'm gonna say next time I'll say hold the pizza a bit until the pickles come out lol so yes get the fried pickles. All and all great pizza, very good pickles and service, ahh it's nothing to complain about but nothing too brag...
Read moreOkay, this is a SERIOUS pie. I could sit here and write an entire article about how good this place is, but instead I'll break it down into a few bullet points:
-worth a 40 min drive everytime -thin & crispy -sauce is tangy like it's supposed to be -pizza has a unique and distinct flavor -if you order takeout, eat a slice fresh outta the box before you leave the restaurant, you'll thank me later
The cheese pizza is phenomenal. For anyone who knows pizza, you know what this means. For those who don't, I'll enlighten you. If you throw a bunch of crazy toppings on a pie, it's easy to hide bad quality behind the flavors of the toppings. But there's no disguising a plain ol' cheese pizza. You can taste the individual ingredients. The only disappointing part about eating this is when you get full. I just wish I could keep eating...
