Southwind Pizza — Restaurant in Gloucester Courthouse

Our dinner started our waiting almost 15 min for a waitress. I requested no ice in my water and it came with, after another 10 min of waiting. The drink order took another 10 min to deliver a split of sparkling wine & a glass. We ordered a side of potato salad, it did not come with the food, but fortunately we were not charged for it. We waited over 30 min for 3 chicken tacos and an order of fried green tomatoes. There was no pineapple salsa on the tacos and the chicken was ice cold. The fried green tomatoes were the best part of the dinner. To top off the evening of errors, the waitress temporarily lost my credit card. When I went up to report it, she insisted that she had returned it to me in the sleeve. I asked her to go into the other dining area to see if she had given it to someone else by mistake (and before someone could leave with it) but she insisted she had returned it to me. Another waitress found it on top of a glass cooler case which had menus and other items stacked on it behind the checkout area. It was perfect im lactose intolerant 😪 and the only way I can get away with having dairy if if it's fresh and the mozzarella on this pizza was like it just ce the cow the meat peppers and pepperoni ummmm. We had the Big Island it was loaded with tasty chuck of eat sauce to die for and the right amount of peppers 🌶 and onions 🌰 😋 no subbing allowed but you won't want to Mathews is about an hour east of our location in Hampton Va. 40 min or so from Newport News. And a stones throw from Williamsburg va. 31/2 hrs from DC... The restaurants in Deltaville were full at 8pm on a Friday night in early October which was unexpected, so our group of five friends drove to Mathews to get pizza. We called and ordered ahead, a Rigby Island pizza and a New Pointe pizza. When we arrived they were getting ready to close but the staff said we could sit on the porch to eat which was super nice of them. They served us drinks and dessert as if we had ordered for dine in. We were so happy to have such friendly and welcoming service since it was so late. Our waiter Michael was wonderful and we will certainly be back. That buttermilk parmesan dressing they have is...
