We are locals who have lived in Yorktown for the past 5 years and always driven by this place but have never tried it so today we went in for lunch. Nice small restaurant converted out of a house. Wife and I ordered two cheeseburgers and fries. Both were good but like backyard on the grill good not gourmet food good. Fries were basic straw type like you would purchase from the grocery freezer section. Side salad was very small and basic. Very basic. My 4 y/o daughter ordered a small grilled cheese with chips that I ended up eating because she just wasn’t hungry. We had 1 coke, 1 chocolate milk and a water. Our bill was $44.60. For that price I could have just eaten at the Yorktown Pub on the beach down the road. This was a $25 meal in my opinion. Very basic meal. Nothing special. I did enjoy it but not at that price point. Read moreHere's what I love about Beachcomber: It's a humble, family-run restaurant where customers are warmly-welcomed and remembered. I bring my 92-year-old mother here about once a month, and Samantha, the proprietor, always remembers her and immediately brings her a mug of hot water, which mom needs to swallow her food (Samantha refills mom's hot water without waiting for her to ask, showing that she cares about her customers). We are a bit fussy, and they always accommodate our requests - bacon, extra crispy; omelet, well-done, etc. Each item is individually made to order and brought out piping hot. They also have some Korean dishes, which I'm eager to try. As for the dining room atmosphere, it's a cozy, nautical-themed room, spotlessly clean and SMOKE-FREE. Well, it's a tradition now for me to take mom here, and she's always so...
Read moreWent for breakfast, no one greeted us. We sat down and waited about 10-15 minutes before the sever even came out. She did not give us menus or silverware. She took our drink orders and finally got us menus, still no silverware. After she took our foid order, we waited about 30 minuted for a 3 pancakes and 2 eggs over easy, and then waited an additional 5 minuted before we got silverware to eat with! Their was only one other couple in the room, so i dont understand why it took so long. After we finished eating, we waited 10 minutes for the server to come back out (she didn't) before we just grabbed a menu and figure out the total. Will not be going there again.
Tl;dr: terrible service, food not...
