Wife and I had our first visit here yesterday evening. Service was great but the food was a bit "meh". Chips and salsa - chips were good but needed a little salt. The salsa was spicy, which is fine, but seemed hot just for the sake of being hot and didn't add any flavor. Wife ordered 1 beef and 1 chicken enchilada, both were good and well seasoned. I enjoy trying seafood dishes on my first outings at new places and ordered the Piña Hawaina. Portion was good and it tasted fine, but the crab meat submerged in pineapple sauce quickly turns it into a muddied brown mess that is less than appetizing. I did not finish it nor did I take home the leftovers - which is generally not a good sign. We both got rice and sour cream salad, wife also go beans. The dishes had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp a bit too long, the rice had dried out as did my wife's beans, which appeared to be canned refried beans - a bit disappointing. Also the lettuce from our salads was not adequately dried before being plated leaving a bit of a puddle on the plate. Elote appetizer was alright but had cold spots, like they pulled the cobs straight from the freezer and didn't heat it long enough to cook through. Seating was comfortable, though we had to slide the table around a bit to get into the booth. The table legs are quite large and we couldn't get our legs around them at first to fully sit down. There were also chip crumbs still on the seat next to me that I wiped off with a napkin. The place was a bit loud, but that was mostly due to a few other nearby patrons that seemed like they might have had a bit too much to drink and wasn't really a bother, just enough to be noticeable. Considering it being a fairly busy Saturday holiday weekend I'd say it's worthy of a second visit for another opinion. Impressions just from this visit though were a bit...
Read moreFood quality is hit or miss. I have ordered pickup from here quite frequently this past year (3-5 times a month). Despite food never being ready at provided pickup time but often lukewarm when received, I couldn't let go of the convenient location. Fast forward to today when I ordered Amigos Dips and Mexican Chile dip and received lukewarm cheese dips containing large chunks of undercooked meat. I guess I should be glad the items were inedible because they only provided a small partially filled bag of chips for two large dips. The poor customer service I received in response solidified my decision to take my business elsewhere.
No longer a loyal customer.
Response to owner:
Thank you for your response and continued display of subpar customer service.
I see you have several dine-in complaints of receiving food that is not hot. I wonder where the burden of responsibility lies in those instances.
Yes, this particular order was placed through DoorDash. However, since my home is less than 500 feet away from the restaurant, I arrived a few minutes early for pick up. As usual the order was not ready when I arrived OR by the provided pickup time. This would not have been a big deal if I received hot/edible food versus lukewarm with undercooked meat.
Thanks for the suggestion. I did contact DoorDash regarding your poor food quality and customer service received while at the restaurant.
Fortunately they value customer satisfaction and were eager to provide a refund for my...
Read moreWe stopped at this location for dinner because my friend wanted taquitos. Place was clean and really nice decor. However, The food did not measure up to the looks.
Waited to be seated for several minutes as no one was at the front counter. After about 5 minutes a young lady came up and said asked if we needed a table because my friend is in a wheelchair. I told her a table and she said to just go sit where we like. Waiter was not very friendly and did not seem like he enjoyed his job.
The food was on the higher end of prices for Mexican restaurants. Pictures on menu looked fantastic. If only the food came out like the pictures it would have been great.
The waiter brought overcooked chips and salsa to the table. My friend ordered Taquitos Mexicano. I ordered Tacos de Carna Asada. The taquitos came with 2 chicken and two beef. She only at one chicken and half of a beef taquito and said they did not have any flavor.
I would think for $13, I would get tacos with fresh tortillas. At least that's what the picture looks like on the menu. The tacos came in double corn tortillas that looked like store bought tortillas and they were dry and breaking apart when I tried to eat the tacos. The meat was barely seasoned and very dry. I had to pour a lot of salsa on the tacos just to get them down.
Bottom line: Fancy restaurant with high prices and fast food...
