I went 25 minutes away from my way back home to check this place out, and I was not disappointed. This is a very local diner, that has been around since 1918 if I remember the sign correctly. The portions are HUGE and you can certainly find street parking available. I came in on a Sunday at 10 and was able to sit at the bar with my SO. We were immediately greeted and had our coffee and water in no time. I went with the corned beef hash, three eggs, toast, and two crispy hashbrowns. He got the croissant sandwich with ham. We also ordered a blueberry pancake to split because we had to see how large it was for ourselves. You do not see the plate haha. Both meals were awesome and the service made you feel like you've been coming here for years. Do yourself a favor and come in, have solid meal, and leave extremely full. You can also do takeout if you want!

Haven't been home for a while and wanted to check out George's breakfast since the new ownership. Usually I'd opt for the massive pancakes (we saw from another table are still true to style) or maybe a breakfast sandwich, but the smashed avocado jumped at me. Two poached eggs on caramelized onions, mushroom, tomato, smashed avocado and a fresh bed of spinach, drizzled with balsamic glaze, all piled on top of toast....my goodness it did not disappoint. Usually comes with bacon, too, but I don't eat meat so they easily excluded it. My hunny got the crab cakes benedict with the hash brown patties that George's has always served, still crispy and golden. His plate was hearty and delicious. We were heavily tempted for a martini to accompany the beautiful bar space, but decided to come back later to test that as well. A beautiful start to our day!!

Wow! I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant! Rach was our server and she was lovely and attentive. My 5 year old didn't end up liking her cinnamon bun pancakes ( they were delicious, she is just picky) and Rach asked if it was ok to have the cooks whip up a chocolate chip one instead (no charge). I couldn't believe it! My party also ordered eggs Benedict which was perfectly done, a Mexican omlet, and the loaded avocado toast. Everything was incredible and we will be sure to go back next year.

uused to be the best value for the price n great portions. but on my last 2 visits the service was horrible.my steak n eggs were over cooked making easy over eggs over well, steak was cooked long enough to make it as tough as shoe leather. the toast was cold and un-buttered, the cubes of butter were on ice making it impossible to spread. after eating only 2 bites i pushed my plate away which the waitress removed without comment. when i asked her if she thought it strange that i hadn't' eaten any thing more than a bite or two she remarked that i should of asked her to put it in a take away container. i told her the problem wasn't that i wanted to take it home but that i was very unsatisfied with the quality of the meal itself, that was the end of it. no offer to replace the meal nor to deduct it from the bill or for that matter no apology.as i know what it's like to make your majority of your income from your tipps i still left $40.00 for a $27.00 tab.(I would of left the same amount even is my meal was deducted i wasn't looking 4 something 4 nothing). of course my experiance is not their usual i still feel it needs to be addresed so that perhaps management will take notice and make adjustments to insure its not repeated. so reguardless give it a go like i mentioned at the start of my review georges was once known for exception value.

OK 3rd visit same as previous waitress still slow, uniformed, and just unobservant that she doesn't know how to do her job well. Over easy eggs once again served with a yoke broke cold bacon, and...

We had quite a negative experience at the restaurant. The owner/ manager told us that we were “being inconvenient” and creating problems as costumers. I live in Brazil and am not used to the food in the US..so I happened to have a lot of questions about plates/foods. We are used to sharing food as a family so I asked for more plates. I asked for a plate that I thought would be a certain way (due to the description), which is not what I received. I was in no way rude to the waitress or any other restaurant employee. The manager told me that “this was not the restaurant for me” because I was a “difficult Costumer ” and “I was taking up too much time of his waitress so that she could not attend to other costumers.” I find it very strange and unfair to blame a customer- unless the customer is being rude, abusive or insulting. I was polite all the time that I was within the restaurant - and i was literally eliminated from the restaurant..told that I was not welcome back there (as well as my family). The manager/ owner should reconsider his behavior with his customers if he wants to keep up the restaurant as a...

We're visiting the area from out of state, and stopped here last night to pick up food to take back mostly because they were open. The environment was warm and friendly, very welcoming, and the food we carried out was tasty and satisfying - exactly what we needed.

So we went back tonight to sit at a table. Different server, different cooks on duty, different food ordered, different context... And still absolutely fabulous. Our server was absolutely on point, perfect. The kitchen had no problem handling my food allergy.

And the place still felt warm and welcoming, even towards a couple strangers from out of town wearing Halloween costumes.

Seriously, if you're close enough that this comes up in your search for a restaurant along your route or near your current location, stop looking and go here. They're absolutely lovely. (And I'm guessing the locals...
