Came with my family after seeing some awesome posts and reviews online. Place is roomy and clean, smelled amazing with a fresh yeast bread smell but was sadly disappointed after. Upon walking in with a semi-larger group, the staff seemed a little flustered with how many we had (7) not a big deal and we got sat down. We didnt realize buffet for breakfast was only on weekends that was on us and of course came just before lunch. Menu for ordering seemed pretty basic to other comparable restaurants, we ordered our food, was hopeful for pancake add on options but was very limited, which was a bit surprising with all the desserts made with fruits I would assume you could do some fruit pancakes (these are just my thoughts it wasn't on menu so is what it is). Food was edible, I didnt see where it had a super wow delicious factor, we sat for a long time with only a few other tables in the restaurant until we got our food, in the middle of waiting for our food, another larger group got up and left after the wait was just to much, finally as we were getting ready to leave another family came and sat in a table next to us, they had a child with them who they really were hoping to seat away from other customers because he was a bit upset coming in crying ect. as well as an infant in a carseat, after finally getting settled down and the child relaxed and playing they made them move because they didnt want anymore people at that side. I just dont understand why with the way its set up and where we were at it was a big deal, especially with the young children. Shortly after leaving, I got the most aggressive hiccups and heartburn I have ever had (I dont get either often) so assuming something with ingredients. Honestly not sure we will try it again, so many other better options...
Read moreOk the burger and fries were great.. The service seemed very haphazard even though it was not busy.. The server was super nice but only checked on us once right after we got the food. I had to wait and grab someone's attention for something which I know happens and servers get sidetracked.. The main issue was the pricing for a slice of pie that had no flavor and was super small. No one liked any of their slices of the different pies that were had. The only other real issue was a cook bringing steak in and out to get ready for a buffet.. He used his bare hands and tongs to put freshly cooked steaks in the metal bin where the steaks had been sitting for a bit while waiting for the buffet to open.. Just not sure how I feel about that having been food safety certified manager before and an OSHA trainer at one time. Other than that I would have gave a 5 star overlooking the pie issues and pricing because we all know customers complain.. But the non gloved bare hand item almost got you a 1 star or less if allowed. Probably the guy was super busy and did not realize what he was doing. But that still is not really an excuse. I do not want him fired, just perhaps some reminders to anyone that handles any of the food including servers. I know they will get tired of hearing it from first hand experience but it really helps in the long run. I will be back in the next month or so and will edit my review then. My thanks for responding and I apologize for not being able to give a comment at the time of the review. I wish you and...
Read moreI took my family to Chisholm restaurant for dinner. We were seated very quickly, even though the place was crowded. The food was very delicious. Everything was home made. My granddaughter is 5 and a very picky eater, so we ordered for her off the menu a burger. The burger was fine, but again, she was being picky and didn't want to eat it. We made her eat half of the burger, even though she was arguing about eating it. It amazed us that there was so many Karen's in the restaurant that could not mind their own business and had to make snood remarks about me correcting my granddaughter. Even some of the staff chimed in. One lady even made the comment as we were leaving, Thank you. I said thank me for what, correcting and making my granddaughter mind. I was raised old school, where you mind and have manners in public. If more people would mind there own business, this world would be a much better place to enjoy. The patriarch of Godly Texas that night at Chisholm restaurant were not so Godly people. Even though it was amazing food, I'm not sure that we will be back, and I certainly will pass the word, that if you eat at Chisholm restaurant in Godly Texas, don't correct your kids, because the Karen's will surely give you snide remarks and comments inside this...
