**Will call the store at 11am to give them the chance to correct my order. Will this post update again. THE ONLY reason for eating out was to sooth a pore pitiful 10 yr olds sore throat that he came home from school with. I just knew a large warm, delicious Wonton soup (the juice) would've helped SO MUCH!! I'm rather new to this area, so I googled Chinese restaurants in Goldsboro, NC. 1) I checked closing times and 2) reviews. Chen's Kitchen appeared moderately raved about.. despite the 30 minute drive in the rain with a sick 10 yr old.. I made the mistake of not checking my bag. The clerk repeated my order vocally as I placed it over the phone, item for item. I get home. No large Wonton soup. No shrimp mei fun noodles, also a large, at that. Just 2 boxes packed full of House Lo Mein (blandest tasting conglomeration of food we've seriously ever had from a Chinese restaurant. small egg drop soup, the small general taos chicken, a tiny box of white rice? General taos chicken has a mild sour taste (NOT EVEN BEING PICKY, OK!!) The wonton soup was the entire reason for eating out in the first place. I should've done better. It was later than we'd normally eat. Although the parking lot was very well lit, (unbeknownst to the restaurant), NOT JUDGING BY APPEARANCES there was a handful of rather sketchy individuals roaming the parking lot wearing backpacks going up to cars asking for something, while waiting for a few grown individuals inside of the restaurant standing up, upper body slumped/curved slam over their lower half of the body, NODDING OUT, swaying (catching their self each time they nodded out) at the counter waiting on an order..(so i am guessing..?) Look, I care less about judging people. Especially their character based on public actions. Live your best life, boo boo. This was solely based on the safety of a sick 10 yr old child with school tomorrow and only myself to protect him had any danger period (could've come from anyone not just these individuals making the atmosphere definitely uncomfortable). The restaurant can't help who comes in.. however the lady at the counter bless her heart, was a whole incoherent mess. Total was practically $50

This is one of the only bad reviews I've done . And I'm tier 6. Didn't get what I ordered. They were off the phone so quickly. didn't take the time to get it right. Didn't speak English nowhere near good enough to be so quick to get off the phone. I was going to ask them to add items but I didn't even get a chance . I had to come home and cook my own mushrooms onions and eggs to add to the rice. food was not good. It all had the feel of being rewarmed. I Paid way too much. I would not recommend the place. I didn't get anything that I wanted. And I paid over 35 bucks. The rice was different than I'd have ever had it any of the other Chinese food restaurants in not very good either

I've been eating at Chen's Kitchen over 10 years. This is the Only Chinese restaurant I will order from in Wayne County. It is not the fanciest, the biggest nor the closest to my home BUT it is the BEST! The food is amazing! The lo mein is never dry and has a good amount of vegetables. Great tasting chicken fried rice and egg rolls. If you have been searching for a Chinese restaurant with amazing food, your search is over!

Delicious food at reasonable prices. When not busy an order can be done in about 10 minutes but if busy it can take over an hour. However it's extremely worth it. Orders are cooked in the order received, so if you go in behind a family that orders 3 different things and you just want a beef and broccoli, be prepared to wait. If you want to try and reduce the wait time call ahead but be warned if it's busy there may be 8 orders ahead of you already so it may be a 40 minute wait from when you call to when food is done.

The way I deal with any wait is I go in, place my order in person, pay, then stroll over to Food Lion and do some light shopping, most of the time when I walk back to Chen's my order is being bagged. Easy peasy...
