Doughboy's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Goldsboro

My first time going here, had always heard wonderful things...... Went in @ 8 , seen they were cleaning up, noticed they closed at 9 pm(Thursday Hours) so asked the guy taking my order " What was easy for them to fix, that wouldn't deter them from tidying up ?" His statement was... Well we have 2 slices of pizza here, pointing at it, then said it doesn't really matter, we have an hour before closing. That part was nice! ( Thanks)But apparently I aggravated him while taking my order because I didn't look at the menu to know that they put lettuce, tomatoes, mayonaise, etc on a steak and cheese sub. Excuse me for being a crappy customer, and NOT looking @ your menu, before making a mistake....and sorry you had to scratch through the first pad in order to show me I discouraged you!!! But you fella (With the boggin on the noggin) have an attitude that STINKS!!! Like.....well you know yo! 🤔👌 Anyways the sandwich was good, But CUSTOMER SERVICE MEANS JUST AS MUCH IF NOT MORE in some cases !!! IF you dislike your job,or dealing with indecisive people, Might wanna start looking for another career field... Everything else, cleanliness A+ , Prompt service after the initial order?...

Update 1/3/22: Called in at 3 pm on a Monday to order two pizzas and two orders of mozzarella sticks to go for my daughter's 6th birthday as this is her favorite place to eat. A man answered the phone and interrupted me, saying "I'm not frying anything today". Um... okay. No explanation and certainly no friendly tone or even a polite apology. I asked him if he would be frying anything later (because my daughter really loves their mozzarella sticks and it was her birthday after all). He replied very rudely "I'M NOT FRYING ANYTHING TODAY". So needless to say, I just ordered the two pizzas and he hung up immediately after without even telling me the cost or the wait time. I would have canceled, but we were starving and short on time. I can deal without having mozzarella sticks, but your behavior was disgusting. Don't answer the phone if you can't talk to customers with an ounce of respect. I won't be coming back and I'll suggest my friends and family do the same. Based on many of these other reviews, I can see I'm not alone...

I can't give 3 stars to a pizza joint that uses canned mushrooms in their calzones. This makes things soggy, so of course when I cut into the calzone liquid gushed out. If Dominos (a fast food joint) uses fresh mushrooms I'd think Doughboy's could pull it off too.

Was disappointed by the customer service, being from out of town I didn't know how things worked. None of the staff at the front greeted us when we entered. Stood at the counter, no acknowledgement. Sat down and read menu. When the guy who took our order came from the back he did address us when we went back to the counter. Don't think this is a place I'll visit again. So, I'm still on the hunt for great pizza you'd write home about.
