QDOBA Mexican Eats — Restaurant in Goodland

This place was great! Quick service, friendly employees and boy did they load up our tacos and bowls with lots of topics! Worth every penny, and the food was hot and fresh! The condiment station was very neat and clean, as well as fully stocked. Very impressed with this location!

So, this most recent visit (2nd time coming to this location) was a total botch and a clear 1-star rating! However, because the first visit exceeded expectations by far, I don't want to totally botch the rating because this is not fair to my 1st experience and the amazing people that work there.

This most recent visit- I arrived 30 minutes before closing due to delays on I70 from the tornado warning and hailstorms. I immediately apologized to the staff and the male (I think a manager) was very nice and told me not to worry, and pointed to a lady with a VERY SOUR expression on her face that she would help me. She immediately told me there were no tortillas of any kind (due to supply issues) and the only meat available was what I saw. Okay- no heartburn over the lack of tortillas. The meat: very very very old looking shriveled up steak, carnitas, and that's it. When I told her I wanted a carnitas bowl and what toppings would be appropriate for my pups (we had been traveling for 10 hours and we were exhausted and hungry due to being caught in the storms). The woman looked at me when she heard it was for my pups like I was poisoning them and didn't want to give me the carnitas. I looked at her, staring at her, and slowly said I would like a carnitas bowl. She began slopping the food in the bowl and literally threw the bowl on the counter by the register. She made me feel like I was a terrible pup parent even after I explained our day (why did I feel the need to explain). Saving grace? There is no option for zero stars! Traveling through there wasn't much options for food. We stopped at Qdoba in Goodland. Where the place was a mess garbage over flowing. Employees on their phones while one gal working to serve everyone and run check out. She was out of most food yesterday and noone was cooking or even willing to help out. Manager short old guy was yelling and screaming horrible things at the employees. Even got furious with customers several walked out. If was complaining that workers quit or too lazy to do there job so we are out we are out don't like it I don't give a bleep. At that point several in line left. One shaggy looking guy dumped old food on new and it was clearly rock hard rice and said you have to eat old first. I give credit to the gal who was working hard to run the entire store while others didn't even blink from there phone. Now the manager talking to everyone like that is unbelievable he should not be in that store.Now to the disgusting part is employee who likes to do nothing but stand around grabs handfuls of food off the station a d eats it Hello Not allowed that is health hazard!!! Walking into this Qdoba, two tables were present; already enjoying their meals and company. The two gals, Julie and Renee, were hustling to complete their respective closing duties. Ms. Renee promptly acknowledged me and my boyfriend, letting us aware that she needed to wash her hands before returning to prepare our meals for us. Her presentation was soft and comforting while poised and transparent. We both loved this, even commenting one to the another. Renee paid close attention to detail, ensuring both of our meals were prepared to exact desire at each step per special request in an incredibly customer service orientated fashion. This type of customer care cannot be trained!! Ms. Julie stepped in very appropriately when a line suddenly formed behind me and my boyfriend. She picked up so prompt service could be given to those newly waiting behind us. They both offered great knowledge and insights into the dining experience which elevated our overall enjoyment of the visit to this location. Absolute best steak bowl and customer service I have EVER, no lie, no cap, received at any Qdoba or Chipotle across the country!! Hands down!!! We will return and hope to see them both.
