So glad that there's still a few around in the Charleston area. This one is up in Goose Creek in a shopping plaza. Easy to get to, shared & lit parking lot is fine.
Came in, greeted quickly. Cashier was nice & pleasant. Believe we spent $26 for both me and my boyfriend for the buffet + drinks. You will EASILY spend $30-$50 for 2 people going to a Pizza Hut/Papa John's/Domino's, etc so we were happy with price, especially knowing we could eat as many slices as we wanted.
Was little busy with families when we came in that night (was a Saturday after 8pm, so not unexpected). Most of them were leaving/getting ready to leave by time we sat down (there's booths and tables available). We went thru the line and the standard options were available (cheese, pepperoni, supreme) also with some buffalo chicken, BBQ, alfredo pizza and of course the pasta and salad. I did not partake in pasta and salad but my boyfriend did. He was little disappointed in salad options as it had a small choice offering, but better than nothing.
I went thru the line more than he did and was happy to enjoy the nostalgia (it's been about 10 yrs since been in a Cici's). You can ask for pizza on request (will take a minute to make of course) and I was about to ask for the beloved Mac n cheese pizza since I hadn't seen in out while we were there and I guess I had a subconscious expectation that it would have been out (my boyfriend had never tried it and I realized that I was been slightly disappointed when it wasn't out - but again, they were busy + I'm sure it's a crowd favorite + it probably takes longer to make than some of the other pizzas). I went back up thru the line and was about to ask the nice guy there if they could make one and magically it appeared!
I got to enjoy good (and cheaper) pizza that didn't upset my constant angry stomach issues. The pizza slices are smaller than your typical PH/PJ/DO chain slices, but 1) you can eat as many as you want 2) they're perfect slices for adult, seniors and kids 3) you can still get full fast and 4) you get so many more options available to you than a "normal" pizza. Desserts were also equally amazing: AMAZING Caramel apple pizza, brownies and those delicious and SOFT small cinnamon rolls.
Atmosphere is lively, bright and inviting. Team was constantly cleaning/taking away dishes. Felt little bad for them constantly going at it almost the hour or so we were there, but as mentioned, it was a busy night. They have a small arcade inside too. We didn't go in there to play cuz of all the families enjoying it, but we had a good time and def will be back.
In case you didn't know like I did, you can order a pizza and carry out like the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEven though it's "cheap" pizza, I've always felt it has relatively good taste. You really cannot beat the price to quality ratio for a good lunch or an early dinner on the single front. However, this location has failed and closed before and I fear it will soon happen again. There are plenty of sociological signs around the room at 1730 to see the major customer percentages were seniors most likely on fixed incomes and obviously low income people. The employees and new management seemed very hard working and customer oriented. However, the base clientele and limited number of employees set them up for complete failure in the dining room. One table was completely covered with stacks of plates and food trash while it is clearly a self serve buffet AND remove your own damn plates. I watched an employee sit down next to it for her 30 minute lunch break. Her lunch was only covered by the magnet moving from kitchen to front counter and several times she had to be flagged down for new customers to pay. With the lack of one extra employee the sitting area is horrendous up close. I walked the whole place trying to find a table without someone else's old sticky drink rings or food crumbs, or worse dirty and adjacent to annoying people. Finally, I had to leave before I was finished. Two Hispanic women with 4 kids around them had obviously been there for hours and I know enough Spanish to know they knew I was upset. However, the two girls were constantly treated differently with with little dress pulls to bring them closer and tell them to sit or behave while fully capable male children near the same age are constantly ignored even when they would let out high pitch squeals worse than a steam whistle. Then they would hold some little bit of food in front of them for them to grab and throw. The manager is running up and down the pizza buffet trying to baby talk to keep them occupied because these dumb illegals have cheaped out on 2 buffets so they could pick at salads and have air conditioning all day until the contractor truck dropped the illegal daddies. Where is an ICE agent when...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me start by saying I rarely ever give reviews, much less negative reviews. With that said, I am completely shocked to see any reviews above a 3 star for this particular location. My family visited last night a little after 7 p.m. and granted the restaurant was packed, that is absolutely no excuse for the lack of cleanliness we experienced. Although there was plenty of seating available, there wasn't a single table clean in the whole restaurant. There was food and trash all over the floor, the trash bin areas where you empty your trash and leave your plates looked like it had not been cleaned all day which was probably the case seeing as how the sanitation bucket that had a prepared time of 10:55 a.m. and discard time of 2:55 p.m. (note that we were there around 7 p.m.) looked as though it had not been used at all. On top of all of this, while waiting for the dessert pizza to be displayed I witnessed a gentleman behind the counter grab a sanitation bucket from under the counter, set it within a foot of the food, one pizza in particular, and begin to ring out the liquid to which I saw splatter on the pizza, while the manager stood and watched. The manager later was making rounds checking on guests (she was very nice) and made her way to our table to ask how our visit was going and I described what I had witnessed. She let me know that she did not actually witness the event and that they do set the bucket on the counter but that they are to gently squeeze out the liquid. I explained that as far as food sanitation goes the bucket of liquid should never be that close to food. I was too afraid to see what their sanitation grade was but I can safely say I do not believe I will ever go back to this location again. In response to the gentleman that left the review stating to not listen to the negative reviews because those people are just miserable with themselves must have been high or clearly delusional. I am in no way miserable but just a...
