Giving Isabel’s a three-star review is a gift. (On a second visit I gave the four-star review!) I entered the restaurant to order carry out for lunch. I ordered a steak burrito and two chicken tacos. The restaurant was not busy, but it took a looong time to get our food. The staff was arguing about the cost for the group in front of me. They were told one total and once he handed them money he was told he owed more. When he questioned it, the gal behind the counter said the other girl told her she didn’t charge enough. The food was okay, but nothing to write home about. My steak burrito was to be served with rice and beans, but it was not explained that the rice and beans were inside the burrito and not side dishes. The steak was a bit tough and crispy in spots. There was not a comfortable spot to wait for carry out orders. I want Isabel’s to do well, but there are some basics they need to figure out with running a restaurant instead of a food truck.
We came back a month later and it was much improved. We had delicious chicken fajitas, chicken tacos, and chips and salsa. I added photos of the menu today, as many were...
Read moreThe cost per item is kept low, but the amount in the plate is small, so it balances out. The sodas drinks are cans, so no refills, but we got water after our first drinks. Food is delicious!!! Super good. Dare I say the best salsa I've had. You have to order it, which is different than other Mexican joints, but worth the cost.
Place was slow on a Thursday at dinner time, but few other families came in after us. Fast enough on timing to get food, and everyone cleaned there plates.
I believe the sides (rice, beans, etc.) are pricy for as little as you get. We, family of five, ordered two rice and a bean, it was not a sharable size at all.
Paying with credit card adds a 4% fee, and the local tax is 8% (so higher than the 7% I'm used to). They cannot control these fees, but just FYI.
All in all, great food, small family atmosphere, and would...
Read moreI gave this restaurant a full 2 stars because their server tried. I have never received such a small plate at a mexican restaurant. I ordered fajitas which came with a side of beans, not beans and rice, just beans (not with melted cheese). There was no pico, no lettuce, no guac, no sour cream. While we are on the NOs, there were no chips and salsa served. I was told they used to have a food truck and recieved food truck quality food. For example, my daughter ordered the kids walking tacos...great food truck food. My server never brought us a check. She told us to pay at the register, then everyone disappeared. We will not be going back even though we try to...
