I don’t usually complain about food, but my experience at Big Boy in Grand Blanc, Michigan was easily one of the worst I’ve ever had. It started with the soup if you could even call it that. It was so thick and salty that the spoon literally stood straight up in the bowl without moving. That’s not just a bad recipe; that’s borderline disrespectful to anyone who orders it. It tasted like someone dropped a salt shaker in it and just kept serving it anyway.
Things only got worse from there. My dad’s onion rings came out burnt and rock hard, like they’d been left in the fryer and forgotten. Not a single one was edible. The sliders we ordered tasted like frozen patties tossed on a dry bun without a second thought no flavor, no care, just sad food. At that point, it felt like we were paying to be punished with every bite. If this is what they’re proud to serve, maybe it’s time to reconsider what kind of “dining experience” they think they’re offering.
And let’s not forget the service, which somehow matched the food in being just as bad. We waited forever for someone to even acknowledge our table, and when they finally did, they barely looked at us, let alone offered any apologies or solutions. No refills, no check-ins, no nothing. Honestly, if this location is a reflection of the brand, it might be time to shut the doors. Restaurants are supposed to provide comfort and care, not serve disappointment on...
Read moreHorrible experience today. Three of us 11:45. We had two correct orders. My order 2 eggs, sausage, American fried potato with onions toast and coffee I requested butter for the potato. The table didn't have salt or pepper. The waitress came with some of the order. She said she would be coming back with the rest of my meal. She came with the toast after I finished what was editable so i sent it back. The potatoes were boiled chopped into 4 pieces and very dry (that s what the butter was for) The coffee refill came from what I think was another customer. So for over $2.00 I was without a drink for most of my meal. They said they would take the toast pff the bill and i had to be rude to get the price off the sausage off. My wife's gravy was horrible. Overall I would have rated them less than one but you have to give them something to do a review. The least they should was given me my meal 100% off. Maybe tell when/If we came back 50% off the check. NOT JUST STAND THERE AND BE STUPID. I'd like to thank the person that came with the coffee again not the manager I...
Read moreI would rate higher but I'm still dumbfounded by what happened today. My daughter and I went in for an early dinner. The food was good and service was average until we finished the meal. I remember looking at my phone, it was 4:48pm. My daughter and I chatted and joked pausing momentarily to look for our server and the check. At 5:20 I came to the conclusion our servers shift was over and left. I walked to the kitchen and talked with another server who put me in touch with the manager. I explained the situation as he gave me our total, $21.53 which, by the way, include two promotional bottomless iced teas that never saw a follow up refil. I handed the manager $22.00. Realizing he was obligated to make some concession, he handed me back the two singles and "called it even". I stared silently at him for about 10 seconds before shanking my head and walking away. Those "bottomless drinks must have been $5 each (I don't know, I never saw a bill) but a $1.53 discount made it all better? ...
