Nuevo Vallarta is a fantastic authentic Mexican food experience, from the service to the food you'll have a difficult time finding anything to be dissatisfied by. All of the wait staff are very polite, and quick to make rounds back to tables to make sure you're satisfied with your meal. I've been enough times now to try many things on the menu, and I've almost never been disappointed. One of my favorite items on the menu is the Pollo Poblano, a chicken breast with onions, green peppers and a melted cheese served with rice and beans. Although I've had almost nothing but pleasant experiences, there are a couple things that from time to time seem to slip through, and for some of it at no fault at all of the workers.
Since its my favorite dish, I've gotten it many times, and in those times I had a couple unfortunate experiences with very dry chicken, though it didn't ruin the meal, it just wasn't as great as I know I've had it before. The only other small issue I had is that sometimes while its busy, I think that they clean plates rather quickly, and then use them for meal plates quickly after and on a very rare occasion my rice has tasted slightly like Dish soap. Granted this has only happened I think twice in my longer history of eating here, and both times they took care of the problem right away and my next plate was perfectly fine.
Despite those small issues in my eyes, this location is a fantastic place to get authentic Mexican food for a great price, and one of the many family owned businesses I chose to support during the Covid-19 pandemic. I'm glad that they were able to make it through to the other side with little issues as I know it wasn't the same for many other businesses. Would definitely recommend...
Read moreI don't know what it is about the cheese in this place, but it is so mouth watering good!
I often get the shredded chicken and cheese quesadilla and never regret it. The chicken is marinated just right and the taste melds so well with that dang delicious cheese.
Even the free chips and salsa they give to every table is tasty! Although, if you prefer salted tortilla chips, you may be disappointed, as the chips I had didn't appear to be salted at all. But if you're like me and don't care either way on the salt, you shouldn't be disappointed.
This visit I tried the seafood chimichanga, and it is really stuffed with crab and shrimp, which is awesome. Now I personally eat crab cakes pretty regularly, so for some reason I thought it would be shredded crab meat like that, but it is chunks of crab, and I think it was imitation crab meat too. I could be wrong on that, but if you have a preference on imitation crab, I would simply ask your server which it is first before ordering. Otherwise, I say give it a try and enjoy!
All in all, I liked the seafood chimichanga, but next time I will stick with the shredded chicken chimichanga and quesadilla, as I have discovered I have a clear preference for that savory mix of chicken and cheese.
Lastly, I got the biggest frozen raspberry lime margarita to share with my dining companion. It was delicious, but I do not recommend getting it if you plan on eating a lot. Holy man, were we stuffed, having ordered too much, and it was sad to leave part of the margarita behind. Next time we'll be ready for...
Read moreAuthentic Mexican food and great ambiance and aesthetics! Staff is very nice and do their best to be helpful. If you've never tried a 'Mexican Shrimp Cocktail' before (on their Menu it's called "Coctel de Camaron" under the 'Seaside Fiesta' category), this is where you want to try it. It's FANTASTIC! I ended up getting it by accident when someone in my party ordered it thinking it would be a typical shrimp cocktail and when she saw it she wouldn't even try it because it looked different than the typical shrimp cocktails she usually orders at other restaurants. I ended up eating it and have been in love with it ever since. It's not like a typical shrimp cocktail in that it's a rich concoction of tasty ingredients like Avocado, Cilantro, Chilled Shrimp, Pico de Gallo, Ketchup and more. It's a meal in itself and if you're anything like me you'll have a tough time trying to save some to take home in order to try and reproduce it for friends and family. I live an hour away and when my family gives me a choice on where to eat for my Birthday, I let them know it's Nuevo Vallarta in Grand...
