Long Haul Saloon — Restaurant in Grand Forks

I eat here frequently because of truck fuel and parking. I always eat in the bar. What annoys me is if you have the special with soup or chili, they bring that first and almost immediately the main entrée. So the entrée gets cold (it usually isn't very warm to start out with because they microwave everything) as you eat the soup or chili. Hasn't anyone ever explained about timing things so you don't get everything all at once? This is very annoying.

Another experience just like the first one but worse. Again, they bring you everything all at once. Had to go get my own condiments. The mashed potatoes were cold to start out with and got worse by the time I finished the soup. The waitress was more interested in looking at her phone than serving customers. Got one glass of iced tea despite sitting my empty glass down right in front of her. She got no tip from me and I doubt she is aware enough to know why. This...

Service is absolute joke at this place. Not sure if it should be called a bar or restaurant but it is terrible at both. Was ignored by the server for over 10 minutes before even acknowledging us. After screwing up a drink twice, I was still expected to pay for their mistake and was not surprised when the manager was busy and wouldn’t speak to our table. After questioning why I still had to pay for a drink they miss-made 2 times, another server decided she should chime in from across the bar. You would think that since she’s obviously a career waitress and will be anything other than this, she would at least have a bit of customer service. Bottom line, only stop here if you are a trucker and forced to stop in town. I wish the other truck stops still served food because we realistically kept the 3rd best option out of 3 in this town for truck...

I simply wanted a drink, a hot meal and to relax. I got a drink.... My meal was delivered with no silverware or condiments. I went to fetch my own. I found the condiments and a knife but could not find a fork. By the time I got silverware my meal was cold. Mind you I was sitting right at the bar, not off in a corner. I asked if I could receive a hot meal. Jen was not happy and on her way to the kitchen kicked the aluminum swinging doors. As I was talking to the customer next to me and telling them of the situation, she yells across the bar,"you have silverware NOW!" So unprofessional.Not a relaxing atmosphere.
