We ordered 2 sirloin dinners. That said, the only thing I can brag up really is the side salad I had with it. The so-called bread service has become a joke. You be better off doing away with it. It's so small and it looks and tastes like it came out of a TV dinner box, there is little need for a bread cutting board, better served on a plate, it makes you look like anything but a actual restaurant. Stopping the bread service or just throwing a bun on the plate would be less offensive. These ready-made buns taste horrable and look like something you took out of frozen meal, it shows you a beautiful picture of a fresh baked bun and then you open the box and get something other than whats on the box cover, because the taste is so far under what you were providing prior. Stop trying to raise prices and then provide less. Charge what is needed and give what is exspected. Moving on now, the backed potato was baked proper, but was not even quite lukewarm, the butter would not even melt. Time to purchase a few new warmer drawers because servibg a cold, now pay attention "Baked Pataoto" cold, just does not workand should never happen, why else do you charge for your food? Get your line cooks trained and have people in charge of spot checking stuff all night long. If your receiving money for a dinner, the customers at least exspect the basics correct, it's nit rocket science. Ok, learn what a foil wrap is and why you might use them. Before you cook a baked potato, wrapped in tinfoil out, makes it stay fresher and not dry out. Coojs, with a pot mit on you take it out, then with a controlled slam, slam it onto the counter, once on each side, then put it on the plate, cut it down the center, then take both hands and puch it in and down dome from each side, this opens the potato up for a proper presentation of it on the plate. At this point, you should see the steam rising up from the potato, this indicates it's the proper temp. No steam, the potato is to cold for serving! Now, for the sirloin, it's hard to know whether this was even a top sirloin or a cheaper cut, as this was not even 1 inch cut I do not beleave. It's better to have these cut thicker and not as wide on plates as they keep them way more juicy and tender. What I am saying is that for what your current menu prices have to be at due to recent inflation, what you're presently doing and serving was not worth the price you are charging. If you have to raise it, perhaps consider better products that people would be willing to pay. Last, get enough actual decent speakers because the few you have now on the walls only cause people in the restaurant to only talk louder. They do not at all help control the restaurants noise level, their cheap, muddy, and directional for a restaurant. I designed and installed sound systems for over 30 years, you been in business mote than long enough but still have not invested in a proper system, not acceptable, I was just down the street from you to all those years. It was so bad that I felt like we were robbed for $50 we spent. As prices rise and your patrons are expected to pay them, you need to consider actually offering the food quality and service that people will expect for the prices you're presently at. As you ribs are now $20 for a plate of what use to be a basic boiled and oven beef sparerib, I sure hope you taken care to improve the rib and perhaps broil it a little prior to service. I am a 25-year patron of the Speedway, but honestly, at this time, I do not...
Read moreI was there with my family. It was awesome. HOLY LORD GRAND FORKS HAS BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE IN IT! Yesterday I saw some very beautiful people playing Bingo at columbia mall. There was one girl in a pink hat that I said hi to. She made me happy. She said hi back and had pretty eyes. The food was awesome. I had the walleye with rice and lemon water. Our waitress was a beautiful woman with nice nails. When she reached in to hand a bill to my other friend, I looked at her arm for track marks. I was glad that she didn't have any. Normal people don't look for track marks. Her name was Irelynn. That is a pretty name and I like the spelling as well. My friends had the ribs. Oh and I had some turtle cheesecake that sent shivers throughout my whole body. I also had lemon water with three sweeteners and one sugar packet. You need at least three half slices of lemons for that mixture to have good flavor. Some college kids were drinking alcohol from a fish bowl. That was kind of weird, yet cool. Speaking of fish, I am glad I am not in the fish tank, which is the classification area for the prison system. I pray now for all inmates and their families. Furthermore, I pray for the prison system and their staff. I remember of a senseless murder that happened in the SDSP. Prison guards are people too. And if anyone has a problem with me saying that feel free to write out a list of ten things you are a grateful for. That guard who got murdered was a good man. I used to see him in the chow hall. We would have our AA and NA meetings in the chow hall on the Hill in Sioux Falls, SD. I allowed one of my friends to agitate me as we was telling me that I need to have a job. I got a job. It's a great job. My Employer created the organ that produced thought, lanugage, and reason. When he sees fit to give me a job, then I will do that job. But for now, I'll just keep shoveling, picking up garbage, (which I love by the way), teaching, learning, crying, laughing, praying, meditating, fellowshipping, and Praising and Worshipping the Most High. If you are reading this I hope you have a wonderful day. Oh, my sister baught some roller skates. They are black with blue and yellow wheels. She is gonna do roller derby. I am excited for her. And Lasltly,...
Read moreMy friends and I have frequented Speedway quite often in the last 2 years. We used to enjoy going. The food has always been slow, even on week nights when the place seemed empty but we dealt with the slow service simply because it was our place and we enjoyed the food and drink specials. However, the last visit we had was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Our server was rude from the beginning of the night. Plus she started off by serving minors in our group while failing to ask for any IDs. I wouldn't normally complain about this but I think it illustrates the kind of service she was giving that night. There was some misunderstanding about menu items and she ended up yelling at people in our group. YELLING. We were being courteous customers and didn't really understand why she was so angry with us. She then proceeded to complain to the other wait staff and the manager in front of us and all the other customers. Actually I would call the whole thing more of a tantrum. She stormed around the restaurant the rest of the night, continuing to worsen our experience, even after several of us moved away from the party. To top it all of, after our friends had left and a few of us were left at a DIFFERENT TABLE THAT SHE WAS NOT WAITING ON, the server stormed over to our table with a $5 tab that had gone upaid from the party. She said that our friend hadn't paid it and handed it to our table. We willingly took it, intending to pay for it. However, she proceeded to tell us to "tell our friend not to walk out next time" in the most condescending tone. The manager had left for the night so we were forced to talk to the acting manager who didn't fix anything while the server buttted in on the conversstion, denying everything that has happened. We decided to be the bigger people and just pay the freakin $5. When a person in our party went to talk to the manager the next day, there were no accomodations as she defended the actions of the server. In my 3 years of serving, I have never seen such a situation. And then to have the manager do absolutely nothing about it. That was the final straw. We'll miss the burgers but I just refuse to give service to people who know nothing about and care nothing about...
