Northside Cafe — Restaurant in Grand Forks

Arrived at 5:30 pm on Thursday evening. Place was dead. My boyfriend and I were only table. We were greeted quickly. When ordering burgers, we asked to have onion rings with them. We were told "no; you can order as appetizer." It was a flat out "no" instead of "I'm sorry; there's no substitutions" or "you can substitute for extra charge" just a flat out "no." Then we waited well over 20 minutes for our burgers. I saw a large take out order come out from the kitchen to the front and figured that was why our order was taking so long. After a few more minutes I had to flag the waitress down to ask about our order. She said there was a large take out order ahead of ours and it should be out soon. Burgers came out a couple of minutes later. They were hot, but fries were lukewarm. Waitress never came by to check on us. I understand if orders take longer than usual, but that should have been communicated when our order was taken. And you NEVER tell a guest a flat out "no." And then to be ignored.... we...

Kailee is the BEST waitress (here since Chris and Rose, when they were up on Gateway) in my opinion. She was smiley and seemed happy to help us. I have no idea why but my friend Billy was given pancakes with his Country order and I did not, but just my lick. The other waitress working this morning (did NOT seem so friend) in my opinion, waitresses such as her is why I quit coming here. So I hope you to get Kailee. The special is today's (02/27/2023 8:30 am). I highly recommend the "stuffed hashbrowns" was "mmmm So GOOD" ! They have high tables, booths hard seats and soft (I prefer as I work overnights). There seems to be plenty of parking even plenty for the handicapped/disabled people. Tell them I referred (Robert, your favorite foodie) ya, especially to get the "stuffed hashbrowns". Long wait for a table even though they were not very busy. 15 minutes with many open tables in sight. Staff seemed disinterested. 8 minutes at the table before getting service. Finally got coffee and it's very weak, no flavor. Food arrived and it got way worse from there. Food arrived 20 minutes after ordering. Skillet was very small and the toast was burnt. I ordered a sausage gravy Skillet minus the cheese which I thought would be eggs hash browns bacon and ham covered with sausage gravy which is one of my favorites. What arrived was a very small Skillet with hash browns with a few bits of bacon and ham with some sausage gravy over the top to my surprise no eggs. When I asked the server if this came with eggs I got a very terse you should have ordered the number 16. I will never eat at this place again. If I could give a zero...
