I don't often make negative reviews, but I'm going to make an exception due to our server's totally unnecessary rudeness. We arrived at about noon on a Sunday, and the place was quite busy. We each ordered a beer, a sandwich (burger & fish), and a side (onion rings & fried pickles). Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Over an hour went by. Our server never came by to see if we needed another beer, but when I finally was able to catch her eye, she said "yours is next" and walked away. Well, apparently not because we waited some more. We had somewhere to be, and it became apparent we would not have time to eat our lunch without getting it to go, and we really didn't want to be trying to eat our $50 lunch while driving. So I went to the counter to pay for our 2 beers. Our server yanked our ticket off the the cook's ticket holder and said "never mind this one" (obviously we weren't "next" as she had told us). Then she turns to me and says "ya know, we're not a fast-food restaurant. It takes time to cook good food." Well, in my mind, it's not 5-star fine dining, and I think most people would agree that over an hour is excessive for a burger and a catfish sandwich. I know that things happen and restaurant staff get in the weeds; we simply couldn't wait any longer because we had somewhere to be. Since we didn't eat, I can't say whether the food was "good" as our server stated. I can say, however, that an acceptance of responsibility and an apology for the excessive wait time instead of unnecessary and rude remarks from our server would have gone a long way. I even said to her that she didn't need to be rude to me. Had she handled the situation with a little more courtesy and class, we would have said thank you and asked for our food to be packed to go. The loss of our business rests...

Grand isle is a place of fresh seafood all around you. Stopped to eat at Starfish restaurant. It was awful!! Ordered fish and oysters. Fish was frozen fish that was partially raw. The oysters seemed to be from a can, they were dried out, rubbery, and disgusting. I was embarrassed for them. How and WHY in the heck are you selling and cooking frozen seafood if there is fresh all around you. But it wouldn’t do no good if they had fresh because they cooked my gosh something awful. I don’t know where the rest of these people are eaten, but I don’t know what they ate. That was good. The bathrooms were filthy. The restaurant was filthy. My waitress kept wiping her face from sweat and handling everyone’s food. And yes, if I had a restaurant in Grand Isle, I could put everyone to shame there. Too bad I can’t do it. I love horses in every way, and for me to have to spit out oysters, they have to be bad. Grand Isle get smart and get you a great seafood restaurant that cooks, fresh seafood, and knows how. This place needs to close their doors. So I’m pretty much paid $25 to...

We stumbled upon the Starfish Restaurant when we were famished, and what a discovery it was! This place exceeded all our expectations. I opted for the gator sandwich, while my husband indulged in a bacon cheeseburger, and both dishes were absolutely delightful. The food was not only delicious but also creatively prepared.

Our experience was made even better by our waitress, who was incredibly friendly and attentive. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, with everyone wearing genuine smiles.

We enjoyed our meal so much that we decided to return the next morning for breakfast, and we were not disappointed. The breakfast was simply delicious!

To the team at Starfish Restaurant, we want to express our gratitude. We don't know everyone who works there, but we truly hope to see the same friendly faces when we return for the summer. We can't wait to come back and indulge in more of your delicious food. Thank you for a memorable...

After checking out the park on Grand Isle my family and I decided to stop in here to grab some lunch as it was one of the only places open on a Sunday around 1:00. The place is small but gives off the feel that the food is going to be great. By the end of our luncy we all agreed that the food was pretty good but the service left us wanting better. We waited to for our food for about an hour and a half. After an hour we really started getting frustrated and were finally told the kitchen had some issues going on but by that time, we were already annoyed. People kept coming in and out with takeout orders and more people kept coming in for dine in orders. Why they waited so long to let everyone know they were having kitchen problem, I don't know; I would rather be told up front that there would be a wait then sit around for over an hour and just be frustrated.

This place is awesome. After the long drive drive from New Orleans to Grand Isle, we had worked up an appetite. The place was busy when we got there and continued that way, but service was attentive and friendly. They definitely earned the bragging rights to the onion rings mentioned on their sign and menu. The fried chicken was some of the best we've ever tasted. Just note that it is battered and fried to order and takes about 20 minutes, but well worth it. Also delicious were the gumbo and the Po boys and fried pickles. A must visit!

1st timer. Down here visiting on a work trip. Saw this place when driving to the Grand Isle State Park. Pulled in and was greeted by "Dana" . She was a great waitress. They had some Spinach and artichoke balls. Very Tasty. Then proceeded to order a double bacon cheeseburger. The burger was cooked perfect and was very delicious. I ordered the killer onion rings, which also came out fresh and tasted good. If i'm ever back this way, I will come here again.I definitely recommend anybody driving by to stop in and eat.
