This was the best experience at an Applebees I have ever had. I travel for work and eat at lots of Applebees locations. I always order the same meal. (It's my favorite) Fajita chicken roll up with extra extra mexi-ranch and a blondie for dessert a few minutes after my meal is brought out. When I say the service was perfect, I mean Alexis H. Was spot on with EVERYTHING. I was in and out in less than 35 minutes. After being seated and the appropriate amount of time passed for me to have time to look at the menu ( I didn't need to because I knew right away what I was ordering) I was greeted by Alexis. She took my drink order and being very perceptive noticed that I had not moved the menu at all. She immediately went right into taking my order as she knew I was ready. Less than 2 minutes later I had my drink. Less than 10 minutes later I had my food. Normaly someone always forgets the mexi-ranch. Not Alexis. My entire plate arrived at my table at the same time no mistakes, nothing had to be sent back, and nothing was left off. Here's where I have to compliment the cook and back of house. My food was cooked perfectly. Its very easy to have something go wrong when you have hot food and cold food in the same wrap. But my chicken was hot and my vegetables were cold. If the chicken would have been over cooked or too hot when put into the wrap, the vegetables would have been mushy. If the chicken had been under cooked the vegetables would have pulled the heat out making the whole wrap cold. Everything tasted fresh and appropriately juicy/crunchy. The frys were not over salted or too greasy and tasted fresh suggesting to me that the kitchen staff take good care of maintaining the fryers. Sometimes when I get my food the wrap is soggy meaning it sat in the window too long waiting to be picked up or it just falls apart because it was not stuffed, wrapped, or cut properly. This was not the case tonight. It was immaculate! My drink was refilled just when there was one swallow left and the plate was cleared only seconds after I was done. The dessert arrived moments after that and it too was just as amazing. Now the blondie is a cake base, on a hot skillet, topped with vanilla ice cream and nuts, with icing to drizzle on the side. This is a very easy thing to mess up. It arrived at the perfect temperature so that the ice cream was not prematurely melted and the cake base was not burnt or sticking to the pan. If it had been too hot, it would not have been able to be eaten right away and thus would have suffered the aforementioned issues. This whole experience made me feel like I was the only person in the restaurant but of course I was not. It was a typical busy Friday night and Alexis had other tables as well. I did not feel rushed nor like I was being made to wait. Tonight's service was exacuted with a very high level of precision and accuracy from all members of the team. Thank you Applebees of Grand Junction, you made my night and visit one...
Read moreUpdate: The manager of the Applebee's got ahold of my husband and apologized. I feel they address the issue and made me have belief that they are still the awesome restaurant that I used to think/know they were. I also was pleasantly surprised that they really showed they cared about making it right. I heard stories from friends and family members who have issues with companies. When they have spoken about it with the businesses, they get told excuses and nothing even done about. Applebee's actually took the time to read my comment and didn't just blow me off.
Well the food runner came to drop off the food and actually dropped my mother in laws dish upside down all over the table and her. The food runner just froze and luckily I was there and picked up the food. The guy was like what do I do? I told him we needed napkins and he brought us like one. She had ordered chicken strips and fries and honey mustard for dipping. The sauce went everywhere and so we had to ask for more napkins two more times because he didn't bring enough. He didn't even help clean up his mess. He didn't even think to offer to take the entree and at least re-plate the entire or get her a fresh new meal. The table may have looked clean, but who wants to eat food that was thrown onto it. The waiter was just as bad, we told him what happened and he didn't do anything about it . I work in the food industry and if that was me I would have apologized and gave a discount or offered a free dessert . He did nothing and didn't come back to us after that. Luckily they have the table tablets to check out. Even the hostess was lacking, used to they would open the door and tell you to have a good night and tell you to come back. I remembered it being better when I was on high school, early 2000. It has clearly changed and gone downhill. That is probably why I remember the wait...
Read moreI usually love this location. It is our go to. But I realized, we usually go and Faith takes absolutely fantastic care of us. Perhaps that is why this entire visit and follow up has been...lacking. I placed an order for curb side pick up. My daughter sat outside for 15 minutes and finally someone came outside and told her that since it was after 11 pm ( it wasn't) she was going to have come in because they were absolutely slammed. Now I know that reality is perception, however my daughter was raised by an entire family full of servers and bartenders. I took her to work constantly. There were not that many people in there. Next, my daughter got to stand there for 10 minutes waiting for our food. So she gets the bag and finally makes to the hotel. Nothing, not one of the three steaks were cooked properly. All overdone. We were given plastic forks to use, only. All of the potatoes were incorrect. The only food that was partially correct was one of my sons children's meals. The second one was wrong unfortunately. I did the survey to let them know how everything had come. A manager emailed and asked how she could fix the situation. I emailed her back the next day. And nothing since then. Very unprofessional. As a manager at restaurants I have worked at that would never be acceptable. I just feel like if I paid $102 for a meal. I should have enjoyed some part of it.
I received an email from corporate Applebee's. They were extremely concerned with my review. The next day I received a phone call from a manager at the Horizon Applebee's. She was apologetic for the problems I had and she was kind enough to give me a gift card to cover most of my ticket from that night. Definitely...
