Honestly I would give zero stars if I could. We stayed here for a baseball tournament during the Juco World Series and we were with our entire team. Multiple people in our party (including my family) had issues with our reservations. I booked this block of rooms in March, so this was incredibly disappointing. Extending stays was a big issue every time for some reason and always required manager approval. It was confusing and odd to me. In addition, several of our party had to move rooms due to the smell of cigarette smoke in their rooms. This brings me to the cleanliness of the hotel.
The cleanliness of the hotel was extremely disappointing, particularly during a time when many businesses are stepping up their cleaning practices to keep people safe and healthy. We did not receive basic housekeeping in our room, and when I called the front desk to inquire, I was informed that anyone staying less than two nights would not receive housekeeping. No one ever told me this prior to that inquiry. When I pointed out that we were staying four nights, I was told we had three separate reservations therefore housekeeping was not informed. I asked why this was the case since it was clear we had extended our stay and there was an excuse about the reservation system. When I asked if they could please get us on the list as trash and dirty towels were piling up in our room, she said we could get clean towels. They brought them to the room, but I had to again ask for someone to take the dirty towels and trash. They came back and took the dirty towels and about half of the trash. My husband said the housekeeping staff didn’t even enter the room - he had to hand them the trash he could and the dirty towels. They took off before he could give them the remaining trash. This seems ridiculous to me during any hotel stay, but particularly during a pandemic.
Overall an incredibly disappointing stay. It is too bad that a hotel can’t have a commitment to cleanliness as this is really the determining factor for me in any hotel stay. I sincerely hope Hilton corporate addresses this, as it is completely...
Read moreOUTSTANDING hotel. The room was extremely clean and the bathroom positively glowed. The mattress was outstanding and soothed my road weary bones. I ordered a gyros at the restaurant and Dan, the chef, prepared the most absolutely delicious gyro.. The pita was perfect...not too dry and perfectly toasted. And the fries were cooked to perfection and lightly salted, just the way I like them. The morning breakfast was also delicious. Because I am a diabetic, I asked for some accommodations for my meal and, Christy, the supervisor, happily granted them. The warm smiles of servers Janet and Jill brightened my morning, and Jose's, the chef, food just made the meal perfection.
At check in, after an absolutely terrifying drive on I 70 on a dark, almost moonless night, through light snow and the whole of the Rocky Mountains, I was greeted by DJ, a pleasant young woman and she gave me two warm chocolate cookies. And I was pleasantly surprised to discover the Double Tree now offers a nut free, vegan and gluten free cookie. As someone who has many relatives with these allergies, I am so glad Double Tree now includes them with these yummy treats.
The lobby and restaurant is warm and inviting, and I found them very attractive.
Then at checkout, I was once again greeted by two warm smiles, Haley and Amber. I told them about my horrendous trip along I 70 and the gave me driving directions which will avoid this road on my way back home. I greatly appreciate their advice.
I am Hilton brand loyal and I can now say the Double Tree is now my preferred hotel in their chain. I have stayed at 4 different Double Trees prior to this one and had outstanding experiences, but this one sealed the deal.
Well done all!@
PS: I 70 is named America's most dangerous road for good reason!! If you can avoid this road, especially at night, I highly recommend it. I have driven coast to coast many times, and probably over 300,000 miles in my life, and this was the most terrifying drive of my life. Maybe during the day it is better, but in the evening, this one won the absolutely scariest...
Read moreThis last weekend my son and his fiance had their wedding reception at Doubletree. We had family and friends who also stayed here.It is a very nice property, but there are a few things I would like to point out. Bride n Groom gave D.J. an itinerary of how everything would go and in what order and the lady who was in charge of helping with everything gave him a totally different itinerary which caused some confusion. Why was that done?? The venue was beautiful. But employees constantly rushing everyone to eat so they could clean up???? Second, a couple of rooms that family rented were not up to standard, as in cleanliness. I would think housekeeping would have a person who inspects all rooms???? Than all guests were aware checkout time was at noon, one of the wedding guests had left their room BEFORE CHECKOUT TIME and when they returned someone else's luggage had been put in their room and they hadn't even checked out yet, much less taken their belongings out!!! Than BRIDE N GROOM went back to their room to collect a bridal bouquet and a few other things (AGAIN BEFORE CHECKOUT TIME) and room had been cleaned and bridal bouquet and few other things had been THROWN AWAY!! when housekeeping was asked about it their response was they can enter rooms at anytime if room is on their daily list to be cleaned!!!!.... I know for a fact guests have till checkout time to be in room!!!.. Housekeeping should not enter if they see belonging still in room. AND IT DOESNT MATTER IF THERE IS A DO NOT DISTURB SIGN ON DOOR !!.. I have worked in hotels for over 30 year and all of this was not very professional at all. Bride, groom, wedding party, and family spent a lot of money to be here for the special day to celebrate this wedding and a lot of us were very disappointed by these events.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST I THINK IT IS REALLY SAD AND UNPROFESSIONAL TO HEAR EMPLOYEES WORKING IN BAR/ RESTAURANT MAKING RACIST COMMENTS CONCERNING OUR GROUP... VERY...
