1st exterior doors state that they are locked and require a room key to get in. NONE of the door were locked during our stay. 2nd manager had to walk us to the room to make sure the key card would work as there system was malfunctioning. 3rd we stayed in a suite with one king bed and a pull out couch bed. Upon arriving to our room I had to go back down to the front desk to advise them that we were lacking a couple towels, needed a shower seat and that the sofa bed was NASTY!! Sofa had not been cleaned, missing a pillow and sheets were dirty/ full of kid snot and popcorn from kids. Front desk was not to concerned but did tell me they would be up to take care of it. 30 minutes later someone showed up with the towels and set of sheets only. Advised her we still lacked the shower chair and comforter in which she said she would come back with them later. 2 hours later I called back down to ask if I was going to get my missing items and was told they were busy checking in people and would bring it up soon. 30 minutes later I got the missing pillow, comforter but never received the shower chair. We had to be present in the bathroom to get my mother in/out of the shower so she would not fall. 4th King bed worked well for my parents but the sofa bed was terrible!! The mattress was so bad you could feel every rail and spring!! The worst bed I have ever had to sleep in (the floor would have been better). We ended up sleeping sideways in the bed with our feet off and to only got 3 hours of sleep! Would have demanded a different room but parents were already in bed and did not want to stress them out over our problem so we had to deal with it. I mentioned at check out this morning the sofa bed was shot but the lady at the counter acted like she did not even hear me. Lastly, TV had finger prints all over it, remote was sticky and attention to detail needs to happen to shower (not terrible but could be better). Will not be staying at this location again

We arrived to a convenient drive through around 730 PM. I don’t believe they have people waiting for customers to arrive to help them with their luggage. I went to fetch a caddie and check in and had a bad start. I was greeted by a kind gentleman and he attempted to check me in but somehow could not find me within their system. After 20 minutes of searching finally the gentleman was able to locate my room. Apparently the lady at the front didn’t verify the identity of the individuals she checked in to our room. Because we had the last name was good enough. What annoyed me the most was that she had the audacity to claim that she had checked me in earlier, somehow trying to justify to herself the error she had committed. The gentleman was very helpful after he realized what had happened and gave us a room. We settled in for the night. It was unfortunate to find out that they use all their rooms for pets and don’t have any blocked off. We would get a smell of dog urine as we tried to sleep. My family suffers from asthma as they are allergic to dog and cat hair. We ended up finding a good amount of pet hair along the beds. Breakfast was not bad, the best part is the waffles. Unfortunately the people don’t know how to operate the batter release lever so it ended up getting broken. As the day was a beautiful 80 degrees we attempted to use the pool but couldn’t due to the fact that it was locked as it was not heated, I could swim in a pool that’s not heated. I ended letting the front know about our situation about how our asthma was acting up the night before, we were moved to another room. I will say that room felt a little better but it’s unfortunate that there is no exhaust in the bathrooms. The dampness says in the room after a hot shower. Overall I will not stay here again in the future.

I stayed here while having medical stuff done in a town nearby and enjoyed my stay. The staff is nice and they are very helpful. I personally did not like the double beds because they hurt me and the staff went out of their way to help me until I could upgrade into a king. It was much more comfortable. They offer a big hot and cold breakfast with many options for different tastes. They have an outdoor Swimming Pool and Jacuzzi that are open year round also an indoor gym and laundry room for your convenience. I personally am all about the top floor anywhere I stay and the views. This place doesn't disappoint. They are really good about not allowing guests to be extremely noisy and the housekeeping is great. This will definitely be my go to hotel anytime I travel through Grand Junction from now on. Stay safe everyone✌️

This is really a true 2 star hotel, no where near a 3 star one. Starting off with the positives - the service was friendly (we arrived late), the pet policy is very simple and cheap, and the location was right off the freeway. They also had luggage carts readily available, very large rooms and more than enough parking. We were traveling through town on a road trip to the Midwest. Upon our late night arrival around 11pm, the first room they gave us was a dirty room. It was initially actually scary to walk in and turn the lights on because it seemed as if it was already occupied. The bed was torn back and slept in. When we returned right away to alert the front desk they said they didnt have another king so instead moved us to a 2 dbl bed room. As a couple - obviously this is a tiny bed for two to share so we were forced to sleep in separate beds for the night which was a disappointment obviously. The room was truly pretty dirty - especially the bathroom. There was a bottle cap from a beer under the sink left from the last person, an almost empty roll of toilet paper left which was clearly used from the last person and not replaced, hair in the shower and mildew on the shower curtain. It was overall pretty gross. Also the room walls were paper thin and the people next to us at one point yelled at us and banged on the wall as we were unpacking. The next morning as we were trying to leave housekeeping was in the next door room blocking our door so we could barely get out and we were pushing a luggage cart. She watched us struggle without offering to move the cart and watched me move it so we could even get out and didn't say a word. So rude. As you can imagine from reading the hotel's responses here - they don't really want honest reviews because sadly that's what this is.

**Adding to this after the "business response" which was my exact point here. They didnt even ackowledge giving me a dirty room at almost midnight and not the room I booked - and instead of being apologetic trying to gaslight customers into blaming them - I arrived at 11pm, left at 10am. You didnt even have housekeeping on to fix any issues. Google reviews are to help future customers manage expectations of what they are booking - so VERY MUCH so for things like this. So now to add to the fact the hotel was dirty and sending me to used rooms etc - I can also add that this response makes their "customer service" EVEN worse than the hotel itself. You should really look into getting a social media manager - the face of your "brand" is a gaslighting bullying person who clearly doesn't care about improving the property or its customers and you're clueless enough to include that in a public...

I don't have fond memories of La Quinta hotels in the past. Due to a local event, it was my only option. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived, though. The brand has clearly gone through a makeover. The hotel was clean, attractive, bright, and well-appointed. The room was large and welcoming, with no bugs or off-putting odors. Even the bathroom was nice. The staff was also excellent. Zero complaints there.

So why the bad review? The two beds in the room had the absolute worst mattresses I've ever experienced in all my travels. I'm not talking about firmness or anything subjective. The mattresses were lumpy and pockmarked like a golf ball, with all kinds of craters and dimples. I couldn't figure out where to put my feet because they kept slipping into various holes, leaving me in an uncomfortable position. (Imagine trying to sleep in gynecological stirrups because you've got to wedge your feet in one of the craters in a similar fashion.) And then the whole center of the bed is caved in, too. I tried to sleep around the cavities. I tried to fill them with pillows. I tried to sleep on top of the pillows. I even tried sleeping across the top of the bed to avoid the worst of the mishaped mess, but no luck. I simply could not sleep on those horrific mattresses.

No sleep, no stars.

I don't know what to say other than I think they ran out of money in the refurbishment to replace the mattresses. Maybe other rooms are better, but room 511 is an embarrassment to the brand. It's absolutely shameful for a hotel brand to expect anyone to sleep on that. And that is the ENTIRE POINT of a hotel, isn't it? A place to sleep. Mattresses should have been the FIRST priority, not last.

As another aside, I would hazard a warning to anyone traveling with small children. The bathroom had closet-type does. Saloon doors? The kind where there's two separate doors that you push together in the middle until they snap closed, with no handle or latch. I got pinched pretty bad in my sleep-deprived delirium, trying to close the doors single-handed. Enough to make this grown woman cry and raise a blood blister on the back of my hand. This isn't contributing to my rating as I understand I should be fully capable of operating doors, but I do think it's noteworthy that it could be dangerous to...
