I've heard about this place on the radio & because I am a Mexican food aficionado, I decided to check it out. I was SO incredibly disappointed! For starters, the small restaurant does not have proper ventilation. Before you even step inside, you can see the smoke from the kitchen enveloping the inside of the restaurant. When I went inside to placed my order, I attempted to make conversation (about Mexico) with the guy at the counter to no avail. I didn't take it personal & just assumed they were busy. I placed my to-go order and sat down to wait. There were only two occupied tables, so I didn't expect a long wait. Several minutes after I sat down, another customer walked in and placed her order. A few minutes later, a customer at one of the two occupied tables, placed a dessert order. Shortly there after, the customer who came in after me, got her order. I was a bit surprised, as I had placed my order before her. I attempted to get the waiter's attention to ask if he could include some limes in my order. He brushed passed me as he dismissively said, "it comes with limes" over his shoulder. A few (more) minutes after that, the customer that ordered dessert, got his order. At this point, a quarter of an hour had passed since I placed my order. I was starting to get annoyed. No one came out to offer me a glass of water whilst I waited, or offered an explanation as to why it was taking so long. I am in the customer service industry myself, so I know what is entailed in giving excellent customer service and making the customer feel welcome & appreciated. This is how a first time customer becomes a loyal regular. All in all, it took 22 minutes to get my order. I find this absolutely ludicrous as the restaurant was not busy and two people who placed their after me, received their order before me. The waiter offered zero explanation or apology for the delay. I asked if I could have some tortilla chips, and he exasperatedly said "those are extra". I was completely taken aback by his brusque tone and complete lack of customer service. I left upset and baffled by the whole experience. To be completely honest, I couldn't even enjoy the food after the whole ordeal. Not to mention, my clothes reeked of food & grease from the smoke and there were only three eighths of a lime included (for 5 tacos). I am always one to support a local, family owned business. However, given the deplorable experience I had, I will not be recommending or visiting this...
Read moreMy bucket list includes having nachos in every state in the union! I've had nachos in many places and they all offer something unique. I appreciate the fact that I could get a half order of nachos as not every place allows that. When you're sharing, it's great to get a giant plate, however, when you're on a 40 minute lunch break not so much. The chips were very crispy and lightly salted. The shredded chicken was tasty and flavorful. The guacamole was very unique and instead of being lumpy was quite smooth and creamy. Perfectly proportioned, I had enough cheese sauce and salsa to cover every chip. Overall the nachos or a yummy, delightful experience! My companion ordered a burrito and it came with a side of beans and rice. She had eaten there several times before and it was her favorite. This is my first time experiencing Taqueria Guadalajara, number two but it will not be my last. The restaurants atmosphere was very relaxing and it was easy to find in the Safeway shopping center, off of Horizon Drive. The service was polite and friendly, and the entire restaurant, including the bathrooms,...
Read moreI've been here a few times and thought it was good. This time the food was so bad I will never be back. I ordered a tamale. This thing had no meat in it just 2 huge chunks of pork fat. The outside was just slime soaked with water. I also ordered 2 asada boritoes with everything in them. I opened the fiul wrapping that was already dripping grease out and found a tortilla that was soaked with grease. Took a bite and got a burnt mouth full of day old chopped steak. I opened it up and found that more than half of the meat was dry and burnt. I decided to open my second one and try it. There wasn't as much grease on the outside as the first so I took a bite and the grease shot out. Again the meat was all burnt and dry. I might be wrong but i thought a baritone was suppose to have beans, rice but no just meat cilantro onion and stuff posing as cheese. Well i guess it's off to la juas for a good boritoe tonight. I will post pictures of this garbage they...
