I made reservations on Dec 9th 2021 for Jan 5th 2022 as it was my GF's Birthday. I visited the restaurant on 3rd Jan in person to make arrangement as I was going to celebrate my gf's Birthday and also propose to her. I met to Chance who took all the notes and assured me that he will pass the info to his supervisor and ensure that things are done. It was not a big ask as all I requested was that first desert should have Happy Birthday written on it when they bring it and after the flight bring the 2nd desert with Congratulations on it. I left the restaurant being assured. On the day (5th Jan) I visited the restaurant again around 3:30PM and met Chance again and I saw that my notes were still good and he assured that he will pass it on it supervisor who will come in a t 4PM since he will not be there in evening and everything will be taken care of. So I left again and later that evening I arrived with my GF around 8PM. I checked in and they confirmed my name and reservation details so I was confident that nothing will go wrong. We were seated and we ordered the food as part of the 3 course meal. Drinks were quick and Food came quickly too. Our server was checking with us regularly as well so I thought all going well so far. My GF tried the fish and it was not cooked well and had certain smell in it. She left it in the plate and made do wit rice. We informed the server about the fish that it is not prepped well or its stale since it has a smell. Server just said "oh ok" and walked away clearing the plates. We decided to ignore since we didnt want to ruin our evening and I didnt want to mess up my surprise. Then came the turn for the 1st desert. Server asked us what we want for desert and we selected one of the choices. Server came back with just plain desert with no "Happy Birthday" message on it at all. I was upset as I visited the restaurant twice to confirm the same yet it was a miss. So I kept my cool and didnt want to make a scene, so I politely spoke with the supervisor asking what happened as I came twice and I was assured that it will be taken care. She just said sorry and said they didnt follow instructions. I requested her to check on my next instructions for post flight desert and she assured me that it will be taken care. We were then introduced to our Pilot "April". She was amazing and we had a great in flight experience. We finished our flight and April brought us back in the restaurant. I was expecting that server or supervisor will instruct us to take a seat somewhere so that we can get our 2nd surprise desert with Congratulations on it. But they were all busy in backside i guess so me and my now Fiancee kept standing like idiots watching each other faces trying to figure out what to do as I was trying to surprise her. Finally server came our with desert in his hands while we are still standing, waiting for some instructions on where to sit. He placed it on table so we just sat and ate the desert. This was just overall a horrible surprise experience where I made efforts to ensure everything goes well and Chance took good notes yet the Supervisor and staff failed on everything and ruined the celebration for us. The only GOOD part about the whole things was flight experience and I give full credit to April our pilot for that. April gets 5 stars but everything else does not deserve any star at all. If it was not for April and awesome flight experience, it would have been a disaster birthday and engagement celebration. Thank you April for...
Read moreWe celebrated our 19th anniversary at the Grand Prairie location. You walk in and there are cafeteria style tables and chairs set up in the lobby of the small airport terminal. At first we thought, how good can the food be in the main terminal of the Grand Prairie Airport? Let me tell you, we were so wrong! Do not judge this book by its cover. We were pleasantly greeted, how rare is that these days?, by Chance and escorted to the window where we watched the small aircraft take off and land during our meal. Our server Whitney was like no other. She was friendly and attentive without being smothering. She should consider opening a school for wait staff etiquette because I have rarely seen any that compare to her. The food was just as amazing as the people. Recently, as a luxury, we ate at the hottest new Italian restaurant in town and the food here blew it out of the water. My pasta was delicious. My husband kept stealing bites. But that was okay because I kept taking bites of his steak that was better than any he has had at a steak restaurant recently.....or maybe in years. There is only one restaurant I can think of with better steak and it's in Montana. They were featured in a beef commercial in the 90's...do you remember those? With the John Susza music in the background with the slogan "wheres the beef?" So that's a pretty high bar and this steak was a close 2nd. So go try it! The cheesecake at the end was not your out of the freezer cheesecake. It was so creamy and luscious. I hate to say I did have left overs...I tried not to but the portions were just too big! Our lovely Ms. Whitney told us not to worry about it and the food would be waiting when we returned from our flight, which it was. Again, how wonderful is she?!? She even volunteered to take a picture of us with our fancy desert which was special. My husband hates having his picture taken (so as a courtesy to him I have posted none on this review) and without her and our pilot spontaneously asking I would not have any for my memories. Again, I cannot speak highly enough of our experience. Our pilot, Mr. Harshal took our picture with his lovely 4 seater plane. My husband and I cozied up in the back. It was a picturesque ride to Dallas and back. There were two storms off in the not so far distance. We could see the rain falling and lightning in storm. I knew Harshal would keep us safe and flew us right around them but it was neat to watch the storm from this angle. Earth's power is magnificent at times. Harshal's landing of the plane was as smooth as butter. I was sad to see the night end. It was honestly one if not the best dates we have ever done for our anniversary. It is worth paying them a visit. Now, off to eat my left over pasta for breakfast. Oh, we will be back with our children. We just now get to fight over which parent gets...
Read moreMy wife and I couldn't have been happier with our experience overall.
The location is very easy to navigate to with GPS, no weird streets to figure out nor a ton of buildings to figure out where to be - unlike a regular airport. The parking was abundant and felt like a very safe place to leave your car.
As soon as we walked into the building, we were greeted by the staff with very friendly and professional attitudes. They made sure we knew what to expect and where to be, it was very easy.
We chose to fly before we ate. There was a bathroom on-site and close to the entrance, no "am I able to get lost" feelings at all.
More importantly, our pilot Austin, was absolutely amazing. GREAT guy with a personality to match. I can only assume he could sense this was our first time on a small aircraft because he immediately began putting us at ease with what to expect.
We had a WONDERFUL time up in the air with him. It was really fun to listen to him and the tower chatter away on the provided headsets as he took us into the sky! Honestly, I don't know what I was expecting, but we didn't just sit there while Austin flew around, he pointed out landmarks, sights, cities, and seemed REALLY engaged with us having a good time.
At no fault of our Pilot's flying, my wife did become slightly airsick. This was, in our opinion, mostly to do with inner-ear issues she's always had. I mentioned to Austin we might want to cut the flight a bit short but he was already on top of the situation: he turned the air on, offered a baggie and assured us we were already on the way back to land. He was VERY cool, calm, collected, and professional about the whole development.
When I tell you our landing was silky smooth, and you probably could've been doing microsurgery and not have felt a single bump: it was THAT smooth. I'm sure all the pilots are great, but Austin was fantastic!
After our flight we ate at the restaurant which was on par with the begining of our experience. The food was great, the service was great, and the view of the runway and planes was just such a wonderful setting to tie it all together.
We absolutely recommend this to anyone! Hey all you guys out there looking to impress, I can see this place being a great...
