NEW YORK PIZZERIA — Restaurant in Grand Prairie

Moved down the street from here 4 months ago and tried it when we first moved here. We really liked it in the beginning and thought this would be our new go to pizza spot. We eat A LOT of pizza. However, the last couple of times we've ordered since they've increased the price of their 10 inch special from $6.99 to $7.99, the pizza has not been very good. It seems like they are stretching their dough extra thin now, like paper thin. You can't even pick up a slice to eat it without it falling apart. Also, the customer service has never been friendly either over the phone or in person. They are always very short and have a "what do you want?" type of attitude. The guy on the phone literally said those exact words last time I ordered. I told him I wanted two 10 inch specials with pepperoni, he said it'll be ready in 20 minutes, then hung up. No total given, no thank you or anything. Given the increased price and lower quality, not sure will continue ordering from here when other places are less expensive for better larger pizzas. 20180220- Placed my order at 6:15PM. 8:00PM rolls around and my wife calls and is told that the order is on the way. 8:30 PM and still no food. I call and I am told that the order was never printed. Which is weird because it was out for delivery half an hour ago. I get told that the order was never made. I don't understand how I paid my money and got a confirmation number. So I ask why. I get the answer " Oh, I dont know either. We got really busy and it never printed. I dont know what to tell you." Mistakes happen, I can understand that. But when I am hearing laughing and carrying on in the background, thats not a mistake anymore. That is stupidity, incompetence, and by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I let them know I will be putting the word out, to which the idiot on the other end of the phone replied with "ok". Not sure what kind of establishment they are running, but it will not be getting anymore of...

Food was, as always, very good, and very prompt. Whenever I am in town, I order from here.

However, I did not appreciate the driver trying to cheat me. Driver did not have a printed receipt with the total on it, just a make ticket with a hand written total $20 more than my order. Strangely, almost exactly $20 more. Driver insisted I pay with my card, even when i tried to pay with cash (after telling the order taker I would pay with cash). Driver did not carry enough change to get the very generous tip I was going to give him, and then, insisted I pay with my card, and ignored me when I said I wanted to pay with cash. I worked in a pizza place for 10 years, as a driver and manager, and am very familiar with POS programs and know that I was shown the make ticket eith a hand written total, and not the delivery receipt.
