I got the Jaja Chicken sandwich and fries, and was happy with both. The fries were crispy and seasoned very well, and their ranch seems to be their own recipe, I'm not 100% sure but I feel like it has yogurt in it which is my favorite base for any sauce, it's a great ranch. Their Jaja sauce is nice and creamy, it's kind of an even blend of slightly sweet, slightly spicy, slightly tangy. I would want a bit more acidity in the Jaja sauce personally, like a squeeze of lemon for balance. I got the medium spice level for chicken sandwich and it was a perfect medium: spicy but not painful, just warms up the tongue. The sauce on the meat was kind of like a Nashville but a bit darker and a bit more flavor spiced, very good. It was a sizable chunk of chicken, and it came out juicy, tender, and crispy on the outside. The slaw on the sandwich paired well and the pickles were nice as well.
This is easily the best spicy chicken sandwich place I've tried, and beats most of the big names around DFW purely because it doesn't feel like I'm eating something radioactive, it's indulgent for sure, but it has the care of something homemade. Bonus points...
Read moreHot, fresh, and tasty. I wish we could rate places on a 10 scale. They would get a 9 out of 10. Only reason is because the CAFO seasoning for the chicken is not really spicy enough. The counter guy really hyped it up; “We handcraft our seasonings and sauces here. Our level of hot (spicy) is probably higher than most!” Oh yeah? Challenge accepted ,Sir!!! It looked hot (spicy) but it wasn’t, unfortunately. Maybe a 2 out of 10 on the spicy scale. I didn’t break a sweat or make a sniffle. My mouth didn’t burn or tingle. Disappointing spicy level aside, this is some really great food, the people are nice, the location though is hard to get to if you are coming from the North or the West. Don’t believe your navigation. You must drive past into the neighborhood one block and then head South until you hit the next right, get on the access road and you are there. Otherwise you can risk getting towed (maybe) parking at a business (gas station) next door on the corner.
Don’t take my word for it. Go try it. I...
Read moreDrove by yesterday, looked them up online, read the reviews, went in today for takeout and…
I just finished the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had! Not kidding… I went with the hottest option—the “Cluck Around and Find Out” version of The JAJA Classic—it was phenomenal. The heat was bold but not overwhelming; anyone who enjoys spicy chicken will find it just right. The jaja sauce is perfect for a messy dipping session with the sandwich. Fries were good fries and also dip well with the JaJa sauce.
On top of the amazing food, the owners are absolutely doing it right. It’s a true family business, and they couldn’t be friendlier. The whole place is spotless, inside and out, which makes the experience even better. I won’t be surprised if the Hangry JaJa takes off and opens stores across the metroplex.
This spot has officially set the bar for chicken sandwiches—I’ll be back again...
