Well, the food is decent but the service is horrible. I stopped in for lunch since Hall St. Bakery had closed their kitchen for the day. I walked in to sign that said Please Seat Yourself so I did. Waitress walks over and glares at me. “What can I get you to drink” as she hands me the menu. Me: “I’m fine with water for now” and she scowls at me.
I think to myself, “maybe she’s having a bad day” but she brings dessert to a table with young kids next to me and is all smiles. It took 15 minutes to place an order, at least the food arrived hot 10 minutes later. I asked for a small side of guacamole and got a huge bowl of it and a second basket of chips I didn’t ask for, especially when the first basket was halfway full. It says a side of guacamole is $2.00 on the menu, BTW. Couple that with $13.99 enchiladas and I’m not even sure how I got the total of $26.99.
I went up to the back counter to pay my bill knowing if I waited, it’d likely be another 15 minutes after my table was cleared. There were 4 other tables of customers in the restaurant and one was eating, the other on dessert, so I don’t know what took the waitress so long. But she was unpleasant and I didn’t feel like contesting my bill. That said, I didn’t leave much of a tip but I had to scribble something out and I’m hoping I don’t get ripped off a second time. It’s too bad. I heard so many good things about this place but won’t return.
I should add the woman who served the chips and salsa was friendly and much quicker on her feet. She should be...
Read moreFirst of all I couldn't understand my server and she couldn't understand me which was frustrating. We received complementary chips and salsa, the salsa was very good, but the chips were not. I got the Quesabirria taco dinner. I thought that since it was a dinner I would get beans or rice with it. I got 3 tacos. The tacos were VERY greasy and flavorless. I ate one because I was starving but didn't eat the other two. My Boyfriend got the 7 mares soup, it was mostly liquid without much meat. The service was not good at all. 1) communication was bad we couldn't understand each other. 2) After our food arrived we never saw the server again. She never ask how our food was or ask if we needed refills or anything else. 3) We had to get up and ask someone for boxes and the bill. 4) We received our boxes and still sat for a good 15 minutes and I went out to the car and told my boyfriend to deal with them since he can speak Spanish. I will never go back and I wouldn't recommend. Luckily we were the only ones there other wise I doubt we could have found a parking spot. They only have...
Read moreJust ordered from them based on all the positive reviews here. My chimichanga was tasty, but I had to pay $5 for even one salsa - the green - and it was a big miss for me. I want an acidic bite from my salsa, not a creamy dip. I wouldn't care at all if it were a buck or two for a small portion.
But my bigger complaint was the "strawberry tres leches".
Edit: I understand now that the tres leches description was auto generated by Doordash, so that's totally fair. It was still a miss for me personally - just kind of bland with little strawberry flavor. But really no big deal. The burrito and taco were both delicious, that's what matters! :)
I didn't get any salsa other than the one I ordered for $5. It was a perfectly good size, I was just annoyed there were not any cheaper options when I ordered. But if you've fixed that, thank you - honestly. I really appreciate a business who cares.
I can see the issues were mostly doordash-related, so I changed my review. We're all figuring out these apps. I'll certainly...
