As someone who has worked in the service industry, we are taught the importance of greeting each/every customer. This simple act, tells each person they have been acknowledged. So I gotta say it’s pretty disappointing (also super awkward) when you walk into an establishment, identify 3 members of staff immediately (All completely available to perform this tiny task) and find that your presence has somehow still gone completely unnoticed. I’m sorry, not “unnoticed” because we’re not invisible right? But completely ignored. (Although there is also a GD bell that sounds when the door opens, in case I was wearing my invisible cloak at the time)
Now I understand there will be a missed greet at some point. Unfortunately missed greet=missed opportunity. It is hard to excuse, however, when I am literally the only customer inside the establishment. Not only did I have to seek out customer service vs. simply receive it.. but was once again ignored while reciting my order (left out last 2 items ordered) and again when retrieving it (making eye contact w/woman behind me in attempt to hand her my order) this customer had come in shortly after me and actually did receive a greeting. Which is odd because there were less distractions when I walked in and got ignored. Now while being tasked w/making 3 drinks I ordered, still made it a point to greet her. Now this isn’t something I wanted to make a scene about what so ever. I did still want them to know how the inconsistency in service I witnessed was quite a bummer. So I contacted them once I left and did not even receive an apology. “Veto” said manager was out until Monday and he would pass it on to her..”have a nice day” and hung up. Yikes!
I was once told by a client, who suffered from depression, that they move through everyday feeling so unseen/unappreciated. BUT after their interaction with me, could leave with their head held high and w/a confidence knowing that they had been seen. Our interaction was not even a lengthy one. It was personal, it was intentional and it was genuine. So acknowledging another’s presence does not take much at all. However to some, could mean the world! Gotta do...
Read moreI want to start off by saying this is the first review I’ve ever left online but I was moved to put it out there. I work costumer service and know sometime the little things make all the difference, especially in someone’s day and are sometimes just overlooked. I went in this morning and Brandon that was taking orders, made my day by simply having an upbeat, cheerful, and spunky personality. He didn’t even end up taking my order but watching him interact with the costumer that was in front of me as well as helping the coffee and food order back up, making sure people that were/had waiting were taken care of and not over looked. The way he carried himself and communicated made me think that was his location and that he was the main leadership role, however I was completely surprised when I over heard the customer in front of me say she needed to talk to his manager to put in a good word for him because of (what I am assuming was such great costumer service) to find out she was working that morning as well and that it was his very FIRST day. Seemed like he’d been doing this for years. Would come back simply for the positive interaction to get your...
Read moreI have a severe allergy to dairy products especially any form of milk from a cow so I always order my drink to have oatmilk instead which has an extra charge. I ordered my usual drink and went to work to find to my unpleasant surprise that I started having severe allergic reactions due to the employee putting the wrong product in my drink. Unfortunately there is no way for me to taste the difference until my body showed me otherwise forcing me to have flu like symptoms during my 12 hour shift. I will now plan on driving further out of my way to a different location than this one off of 196 and Fuller if I ever choose to purchase from Starbucks again due to my fear of the employees at this location possibly giving me or someone else with a dairy allergy the wrong product causing me pay over $8 to just get...
