This is my first time to post a review in a while because let's be frank, since covid the service, quality and experience of dining out is just not what it used to be. Living in Paducah, we have tried to walk in T Lawson's a few times (while in Grand Rivers for festivals, parades) in the past but never had a reservation and the wait was too long. No big deal, it's a small place and we should've planned better. Yesterday while on the lake us and some friends decided to give them a call in hopes of getting a table on a holiday weekend and they said sure, 7:30 table for 4. We arrived and to be honest, we have gotten used to slow service, unattentive (usually short handed) wait staff and "just ok" food. We had zero expectations and was just happy to get a table at a nice restaurant on a busy lake weekend. We were super surprised when we sat down, the decor was pretty, the air conditioning was SO NICE, and we aren't much on piano music but it was really neat. Our friends ordered the giant pretzel and it was way more than enough for 4 adults to share. Our friends ordered steak, my husband I ordered a burgers and they were huge servings. The ribeye was a little pricey, but they shared it and it was the biggest 16oz I'd ever saw. Our burger was probably the best burger I've ever eaten at a restaurant and I'm pushing 50 years old. I don't ever feel compelled to leave reviews but my husband and our friends couldn't quit talking about how great the food was and the service was even better. In true small town Grand Rivers fashion, and exactly the quality you would expect from a sister restaurant to Patti's, we had a wonderful experience. DEFINATELY recommend the drive from Paducah for a date night. You won't be...
Read moreThis was my first and last experience at TLawsons. I came here around 2PM and sat at the bar with my SO. I wanted to try something off the lunch menu and was told it was a dinner item only, even tho online it was shown as a lunch item. My SO asked if he could order a steak and was also told he couldn't because that wasn't a lunch item either and had to wait until dinner. We asked when dinner started and was told by the bar tender that she had no idea. I was like what how do you not know? She said yeah it's whenever they want to start serving dinner so I don't know what time. I took her at her word and thought this sounds ridiculous that she didn't know what time dinner starts even though we were told certain items weren't offered until dinner started...However, we noticed a couple at the end of the bar was sharing/eating the very steak my SO had wanted to order and eat lol. So I guess they made an exception for that couple?! We ended up ordering off the bar menu and got a pretzel which was $15 and came with a side of cheese. That seems very pricey for a pretzel IMO but it was large so whatever. My SO ordered chicken wings and said they were only lukewarm and a couple of them were even slightly cold. He's not one to complain or send back food so he just didn't eat. I would've sent back or complained but that's on him. Regardless we just won't come back ever again and I def don't recommend wasting your time or money at this disheveled place. At least have your staff know when dinner time starts or don't serve and sell some patrons certain dinner only menu items and preclude the sale of it to others, that's just a major turn...
Read moreStopped in for dinner. Was told there was a 1 hr and 45 min wait for a table but that we could sit at the bar, so we did. The entire time that we were there, several tables in the dining area remained empty leading us to wonder why there was such a long wait. I ordered the brisket sandwich with fries and coleslaw. The coleslaw was not on may plate when served. The brisket was the worst part of the meal. I love brisket and have eaten it in many locations but this sandwich was pitiful. There were barely three good bites of meat on the sandwich. I removed the top bun and the onion toppers from the sandwich and what the restaurant served as brisket was chopped fat. It looked like the sandwich had been made from the scrap pan where brisket was trimmed. Also, the fries were cold, so needless to say I had no dinner. I should have sent the entire meal back, however, I am hesitant to do for fear of retaliation in the kitchen. We have reservations at Patti's tomorrow and I hope that the food is...
