This place was so great! I had the quiche and biscuits. I can honestly say those are THE BEST biscuits I have ever tasted!!!! Literally melt in your mouth! The service was great, the prices were unbeatable, and the portions were definitely filling! Update: Have been here more than a few times when I visit, and this place never disappoints! It's a no frills, hometown breakfast place with large portions and great prices! March 2024 Update: This was the place my husband always went with his racing buddies every single Sunday morning when he was in the Army stationed at Ft. Riley. This was 25-30 years ago. That tells you how long Stacy's has been around and what a staple it is in this community. It's a small-town, down-home feeling as soon as you walk in. It's not fancy, it's very basic with a focus on good customer service and yummy comfort food. And it delivers! I have a lot of allergies and the waitress took a lot of care to make sure the cooks knew how to prepare my eggs in order to avoid cross-contamination. My husband always gets his biscuits and gravy when he comes here and also corned beef hash. We came with friends (whom we call our family) and it was just another amazing experience at this place! A must visit whenever we are in JC!

I do not know if Stacy's obtained a new owner or not but this is not Stacy's food. My husband and I have always loved Stacy's but have not been in awhile because we saw awhile back it was on the market and thought it was closed. Today I was really missing their food and my husband said they never closed so we thought to do a to-go order, my husband called and ordered the country fried steak which the lady repeated back to him chicken fried chicken he said no thank I ordered country fried steak. She told him was the same thing, is most definitely is not. Then, he orders me a club sandwich, simple turkey, ham, and bacon lunch meat. As he's hanging up she starts talking crap to another co-worker mentioning how he doesn't want it chicken fried is a snarky tone. My husband brings home the food and it just looks off, how you could mess up a sandwich is beyond me. I got no turkey, a think slice of ham, and bacon that was so hard and burnt I couldn't eat it, he said his food was okay but definitely not Stacy's country fried steak. Probably will avoid ordering to go from them again so I can see the food before I pay almost $40 for 2 meals that we didn't eat.

While visiting the Topeka area on motorcycles, we found this place on Google maps. We love the mom and pop diners over fast food or a Cracker Barrel (support local, right?), so this was right up our alley. Although it was around noon, we all ordered breakfast and it was perfect comfort food. I just had eggs and hash browns, my husband had a delicious vegetable omelet and our son had a really good chicken fried steak and eggs. The sausage gravy was great and the eggs were made to our liking. Our server and other employees were very friendly. Although we didn’t talk to her, I believe Mary was walking around, chatting & asking patrons how they’re doing, etc… The special of the day was fresh catfish and it looked great.

My friends and I ate there yesterday for breakfast. I've lived in Junction City for over 5 years and this was my first time going to eat there. The building looks small from the outside but it's really BIG on the inside as there's a large room in the back that is hard to see from the outside. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs. The meal also came with hashbrowns and toast and my eggs were scrambled. I ordered grits on the side with orange juice and water. All in all, I'd say the meal was pleasant. My eggs and toast were really good. The grits were ok, just basic grits. I didn't eat my steak there. I took it home because I was so full from everything else. My favorite was the hashbrowns. They were so good. I got up around 2 am hungry so I ate the chicken fried steak. It was still very good. A change that would be welcome is to let people pay at their table with their waitress. This will avoid all the people gathering around the cashier trying to pay. Some things I didn't like but certainly weren't deal breakers: it look a long time to get our food, we had a waitress who was very nice but for some reason she got replaced by this other waitress who just took over and seemed rushed, you had to tell the cashier how much of a tip you wanted to leave on your credit/debit card instead of being able to do it yourself, and they let a lady bring in a non service dog into the restaurant. Anyway, I will be going back to try more items...

Reflecting back on our cross-country trip last summer, a handful of places made me hope to get back to someday. By chance we ended up for breakfast at Stacy's because it was near the motel we stayed for the night.

The diner was busy and as soon as we step in the door seated customers called out to seat ourselves anywhere. Although Stacy's is right off I-70, this is clearly a place for local regulars; a few travelers, like us were mixed in for good measure. We were attended to in the same friendly manner as the locals, whom all seemed to be known by name.

We enjoyed a hearty breakfast. Although we likely eat rather differently than most eastern Kansas folks, and probably think divergently politically, Stacy's is a place, like when in Rome, you do as the Romans; we ate the standard fare of eggs, and bacon, hash browns, and pancakes at reasonable prices. I seem to recall biscuits and gravy and a wonderful cinnamon roll we took along for the road. We noticed a lot of people must call in orders as well, because several came in for breakfasts all bagged up.

If more people in the country were to come together at a place like Stacy's we would probably be feeling better about each other, even though we might not vote alike.

If you want to feel welcomed in the heartland and partake of the standard fare at a reasonable price, stop in at Stacy's....and seat yourself...
