Was so excited! Three of us dined in, we was brought a total of 11 chips with dip to the table. Right away we was like no way. So my daughter took a pic to send to her husband. The other waitress would bring her tables a full basket with the salsa as our was what is pictured. After the three of us ate those about 10 minutes later, we were able to stop the waitress to ask if she would bring more chips. She told us, "That will cost you $6 extra. Our joke was, thank GOD, we did not order cheese dip. LAWD we would have wasted our money on the 11 chips. Please know I can not make the 11 chips up. We all three was like WHAT? She said yes, the ones we brought to the table were a sample. Um, ok! When I ordered my dinner, I was asked what dressing for my salad? I was confused as the salad usually comes on your plate with guacamole. Not here you have a choice of French, Ranch and Italian. WOW! I ordered the Carne Asada, It was three slices of steak that would go on a cheese steak. beans & rice. EVERYONE KNOWS it is a thin slice of steak sliced. However, I understand each place may be different. I had no way to cut and had to pick up and eat with my fingers. Most places you get 2 soft tortillas, NONE. Also, on the menu, it was to come with guacamole and NONE. My husband ordered a steak burrito that had very little rice, and as it read on the menu, no guacamole. My daughter ordered the chicken tacos. it came on one corn tortilla that soon as you pick up feel apart and she had to eat with a fork. I understand that they were nonstop. However, our waitress was not very pleasant and seemed to be all over the place. I have an empty glass and was scared to ask for more that I may be charged extra for that. Waitress NEVER asked if I wanted a refill. The beans and rice were good. We want be back. We will do the drive to State College. My daughters chicken had ZERO flavor, and I mean ZERO! We couldn't help but look around at everyone to see if it was just us or everyone was being served like this. Oh BTW the salsa was very good! We will just stick with State College. Between the 3 of us, we spent around $60.00. The sad thing is he really could do well with some changes. However, I'm not sure if it will be more people like us who want be back and lose out on what it...
Read moreWe really wanted to love this place. Personally, I don't like writing reviews, but I feel the need to save you all from a poor experience. We walked in and found a table quickly as there was only one other table occupied. We sat down and waited nearly 10 minutes before we were greeted and given a menu. From that point, the waitress did an ok job at taking our order and checking in. There were no fewer than 6 people in the kitchen and two other people working the front of the house. My wife, two boys (6 years old and 18 month old),and I were dining this evening. We ordered the chips and salsa as this restaurant does not simply give them to you. They were quite pricey at $6. The chips were good, but the salsa simply tasted like tomato sauce. My wife ordered the carne asada (paper thin and flavorless), which came with rice and beans and a salad. She had ordered a water to drink. I had ordered the steak fajitas, which came with rice and beans and tortillas and a Mexican soda (Squirt - this was an extra $3). The beans were not existent, only the juice was present. They even tasted watered down and were nearly flavorless. The fajitas did not come out sizzling but rather luke warm. This was a small portion and simply not worth the price (lacking flavor). My 6 year old ordered chicken tenders with a side of apple sauce and an apple juice. The chicken tenders were $9, and my son only got (2) tenders. The kid's meal (tenders) comes with a drink but, the apple juice that he ordered was an extra $2. Our (2) dinners and the kids meal totaled $60. When you go to pay, the waitress comes to your table and asks for your card/payment prior to seeing any slip. Only once they process the payment are you able to see what you are paying for. Again, we really wanted to like the place, but we most likely won't go back. I could go into great detail for each item, but in summary, the portions were very small (compared to many other Mexican restaurants), the flavor was very lacking, and the meal was overpriced. You're much better off going across the street...
Read moreI made my first trip into the restaurant today and I had mixed feelings about the experience. I had high hopes but left unsatisfied. It was lacking a good atmosphere and felt quite empty in terms of decor. The Cactus balloon they had tacked to the wall made the biggest impression in my eyes. They were out of horchata which was a bummer but maybe I just arrived to late. Startin with the chips n salsa were quite bland. A adiquate amount of chips with a half/quarter filled sauce bowl. My wife got the Garden burrito n had a strong taste of velveeta cheese n pasty guacamole. I got the Enchilada Verde, the chicken was flavorless, Id guess boiled n served. The corn tortillas it was served in were warm/lukecold n the most flavor was between that and the verde salsa ontop. It came with rice n beans that also disappointed in terms of flavor. For 2 people, our bill came out to about $38. On the higher end from my experience when it comes to mexican food. Overall, I was not impressed and hope to try them again in the future. Hopefully they will...
