I always love going to Culver's after putting the kids to bed, to grab the wife and I a couple of their delicious Concrete Mixers.

In general, even at 10:30pm, the drive-thru is reasonably busy (which, in this day and age, is a good thing), and I don't mind waiting a few minutes. The staff are always polite, and order accuracy is very high. My only (minor) gripe here is that, sometimes, the custard can be a bit inconsistent in its texture. Usually, it's thick and creamy (just as it should be); occasionally, however, it's quite "melty", and I'm not quite sure why (the return trip home is always the same). It tends to bother the wife a bit more than myself; for her, a little time in the freezer at home usually fixes it up while I tend to just "drink" the last bit of "melty" custard at the end of the cup.

Additionally, we will occasionally eat Culver's for our family dinner. My daughter and I get burgers, my son gets a grilled cheese or chicken tenders, and my wife will get a burger without the bun, and make herself a "burger wrap" with a tortilla shell upon arriving at the house. This usually goes pretty well, and we're all very satisfied. However, on the evening of January 2nd, 2021, my wife opened her box to discover a disaster. The cheese was melted directly to the waxed paper, and a half of a burger patty and three strips of bacon were sloppily tossed on top. She ended up having to salvage what was there, melt a new slice of American Cheese from the fridge on top, and eat an undersized (and underwhelming) "burger wrap" that night. While things like this do not occur frequently, it was rather disappointing to have occur. I've attached a photo of the "surprise" that she discovered inside her box on...

I have been going to this Culver’s for years and usually have had a positive experience but that has changed recently

I am a regular and my past 3 ordered have been messed up. Which is frustrating because I don’t realize it until I am already at my destination. I understand that mistakes happened and we are all human but now it has become more common to receive a wrong order than a correct one.

They have forgotten to add the extra toppings (concrete mixer) they have charged me for on multiple occasions. I also have done the curb side pick up and waited in my car for more than 10 mins and walked inside to get my order (which was ice cream) melting on their counter.

Today was my last straw when I received the wrong flavor of ice cream

On top of getting my order wrong multiple times they have become stingy with the amount of toppings they add to their ice cream. I’m being charged almost a dollar to add caramel syrup and when I get my ice cream the caramel is almost none existent.

They have given me the completely wrong order on other occasions.

How do I get the wrong order 3 times in a row? Here and there - I get it but this many occasions is becoming ridiculous.

I love Culver’s but this location is declining in service.

If you’re a grayslake local looking for ice cream I would recommend the freeze before coming to...

I have gone here for 15 years and never had such an experience! My granddaughter and I were in a hurry to get to Gurnee for ice skating or I would have gone in and complained to management. After waiting for quite some time I got my burger handed to me literally with just the meat and cheese in a box! I drove back around to the drive thru because I did not want to take my granddaughter out. The boy at the drive thru said do you want me to get you a bun? I said well, ok. He disappeared for 5 minutes and eventually a lady showed up asking what was my order. I said I am waiting for the bun for my burger. She then disappeared. The boy showed back up, shoved another bag out the window and said "here!" It was my bun in another bag. So as we drove away and I worked on my build-a-burger, I was shocked to find not only was the meat handed to me in a box, but one of the cheese slices was underneath the meat! As I peeled the cheese off the cardboard, pieces of cardboard and cheese stuck together to create an absolute mess! Not one apology was given and I was treated as if I was a nuisance to everyone who appeared at the drive thru window. What an unbelievable...

I did not score atmosphere beacause I have only driven through this location. Food only gets 4 stars because my walleye was incresible greasy. If food is fried at the correct temperature it should not absorb an excessive amount of oil. Also something with a heavier batter on it should be drained on some kind of paper. If its being put straight into the container it needs to be placed on something to absorb excess grease. There was a thick layer of oil that my bread, lemons and cheese curds were sitting in. Then I put the fish on a layer of paper towels and they were saturated. I then put my unbeaten pieces in a fresh paper towel in a plastic bag and oil was still filling the fresh paper towel. And ok I get it fried fish is a fried meal, but this was excessive. I dont know that this is location specific because this has happened at other locations as well, maybe not quite as bad. Perhaps this needs to be adressed chain wide.

Management, a meal at Culvers is an event. The food choices are tasty. Although I prefer a gourmet French fry, not crinkle cut. Your sweet potato fries are a nice alternative. Root beer outstanding quality. Understanding that semantics of substituting one choice over another, can be cost ineffective, however, the up charge can leave you with a strained pocketbook. Your fries I avoid and choose Onion rings 😋 A meal rarely cost less than ten dollars, honestly, a break for young families and seniors would be appreciated and generate more interest in your restaurant. On a very personal note, clean bathrooms are a base necessity and greatly appreciated. Please the customer, and they'll comeback in droves.😋
