The bouncer denied us entry based off my enhanced/passport ID. He used a black light to check IDs and mine was the only difference, but mine was also the only enhanced license. He was polite and explained what he thought were issues with my ID and thankfully he did not take it; but he said that âtechnically he was supposed to.â He was comparing my ID to a sheet that showed âacceptable IDsâ but it only showed regular drivers licenses. He also used a phone scanner that would not read the bar code on the back. I asked if mine being enhanced made the difference and he said it shouldnât but didnât seem confidant in his answer. After a little research, an enhanced MI drivers license has the Michigan seal reappearing on the front of the license under black light, which is exactly what my ID showed. I canât blame the bouncer as he was doing his job and he was also very polite about the whole situation, itâs just a little disappointing that we were unable to stay and have drinks.
Edited to add: I live in Michigan and they asked for a second form of ID which I donât have. How many people carry more than just their license/one form of ID? Let me just make a three hour drive home real quick to get my passport to âprove you wrong.â Iâm now changing a two star review to a one star review due to a snarky response from the owners. Being a bar you should be able to check ALL forms of ID, not just standard licenses. If I did live closer I absolutely would âprove you wrongâ but what would I get out of it? Free...
   Read morePlace has pretty great ambient, surpringly clean for bar, much cleaner and nicer in comparison to anything I've seen or been.
The food was great, like actually pretty great, had the mozzarella sticks and a burger, spending less than 10 bucks on bar food and being full is rare.
Drinks were reasonable in relation to their strength, their assortment of long Islands is something to try (average of 8 ish dollars for one). The bartenders were extremely nice, helpful and attentive. I do wish the drinks had a price next to them though.
The pool tables were in good condition and reasonable for the price (at best) Rented out the table for 3 ish hours and two sticks, ended up having a pretty hefty bill after that, which is on my own accord since, I agreed to pay those prices. I understand there needs to be a profit made, but maybe an initial fee of 9, and the next hours is 5, or 3, something along those lines as people who are playing are also drinking and consuming food.
I think the establishment would benefit from a few things;
â˘Introducing specials or combos, as in, rent a table and get a free drink or food item. Would be pretty profitable and drive some sales up, specially on the weekends. â˘Music being played instead of sports during non game nights and such. The audio system is there.
Aside from that, I have no complaints. Will be going back to try the rest of the...
   Read moreNice Little neighborhood bar with polite and informed staff. My wife and i have lived in Lake County only a month and a half and tonight was the first night in a while we didn't have the baby so we decided to go out and wanted to do something too. I asked for a pool table and was asked if i wanted a 7 or 9 foot. I'm not a big pool player but I like to play from time to time and he was very quick to make suggestions to fit our needs.
Cost for pool for 2 is $8/hr (per hour cost varies depending on how many will be playing the table and is prorated per minute if you don't play full hours) plus $1 rental for pool sticks. This may sound weird to rent your pool sticks but its amazing because this means that their staff handle all of the sticks at all times so you dont end up with chipped tips or warped sticks like halls that leave the sticks out.
They have a pretty good selection of beers at decent prices. They also offer food but i didnt order anything so I'm not sure how it is or when the kitchen closes. They also offer darts and a large area to play bags if that's what you're into as well as a small...
