Recently ordered from here on their app…easily the worst subway experience I’ve had to date. My daughter is obsessed so we frequent subway but this was our first visit to this specific location - and first subway experience that I’ve felt negative enough to share publicly.
My order consisted of cookies, drinks, and 4 subs. Placed the order on their app and it gave me a 15-20 min timeframe for pickup. I arrived a little over 25 minutes later. When I walked in, nobody greeted me (not a big deal for me) but with 3 employees behind the counter at the time and only 1 customer giving their single-sub order, that didn’t go unnoticed. My order was not in the pickup area (no other orders either so it confirmed for me that they were not actually that busy - as I overheard them telling other customers as I waited)
As I wasn’t greeted, I sat down at a table and waited for them to finish the gentleman’s order. While ringing him up, they asked if I was there for an order. I gave my name and the woman (who I later concluded is the manager) told me the other girl would start making my subs in a few minutes (now 10 minutes after they were suppose to be ready for pickup). At this point, 2 adults and a child walked in to order and she began to prep their food, not mine. As she was bagging their order, a couple walked in (no greeting for them either) and the male audibly said in response “what the f*” - if I heard this sitting at a table by the window, no way the customers couldn’t unless they weren’t paying attention. Not surprisingly, the woman began their order and checked them out before mine…
Being in customer service for 15 years now, I’m probably the most patient person in these situations so I sat patiently waiting for my order despite there being 3 employees behind the counter and only 1 (female) preparing food. Not the typical single employee handling bread, meat, and cheese while the other handles toppings workflow that I’m use to seeing at subway. The male was bagging cookies, chips, and drink cups which was pretty minimal based on my observations. The other woman (manager) stood at the register the entire time where she even proceeded to answer her cell phone and carry on a conversation only stepping back to allow the other employees to use the register. At one point of her conversation she stated in a shocked tone, “What happened?” (Pause as she listened) “That makes no sense. I’ve been to that store, it’s one of the cleanest I’ve ever been to. It’s cleaner than mine! Now I’m irritated” (Which is where I gathered she was the manager) and I will say - this location was clean.
Nobody apologized for the wait and I left with my food 45 minutes after it was suppose to be ready. My family and I ate after we got home, most the food was fine. Nothing special. One sub was completely wrong…ordered a monster which is suppose to come with steak and bacon (foot long for $13) instead they put bacon and turkey. For clarification - turkey obviously costs much less than steak which is why the footlong turkey sub is $4 less, I’m sure. Additionally, lettuce was requested but it had spinach instead. Despite this being so incorrect, it’s still not something I would have ever even complained about online if it weren’t for the rest of the experience I had.
Don’t recommend this location. Employees need major training in customer service and delegation/time management. And, highly unlikely they will get that proper training from this manager because she is in dire need of leadership training herself.
As someone who manages employees and has dealt with a wide range of skills and backgrounds…total injustice what this manager is doing to these younger workers. This creates the unmotivated employees we constantly hear employers/managers complaining about - employees that expect unrealistic pay while providing zero skill, little or no effort, and no accountability. Start molding employees properly so they go on to future employers with work ethic...
Read moreTonight I went into the interlochen subway between 7:45 and 8:15 pm. As I was watching the sandwich artist make an order that was for door dash 3 sandwiches at this time she let me know it was going to be a minute as she needed to finish this order. I said okay that’s fine. The girl had a bunch of top money on the counter so she with her gloves that she was using to make the sandwiches picked up the money and put it back in the tip jar then grabbed the knife with the gloves still on that she handled the sandwiches prior with and the same gloves she touched the money with cut the first sandwich wrapped it and then went to look for more bread to finish the order and said that she needed to call the door dash order that was placed as she was out of bread. I said okay as I stood there and watched her she had the same pair of gloves on that she had used to make the sandwich’s with then touched the money and then the sandwiches again to wrap the. she picked up the phone and dialed the number with the SAME gloves on. Never once changed gloves or washed hands. She kept working on the 2 she was finishing for the order and repeatedly calling the door dash number. I finally said I have to go. I will never go back there. The cross contamination of germs on the food has me beyond disgusted that our food and the handling is not taking properly by people. This needs to change. People need to be educated on cross contamination along with safe...
Read moreI ordered two footlong subs. Photo is attached of the order. Somehow whoever made these subs got the two VERY mixed up. The turkey sandwich was supposed to have turkey, pepperoni, American Cheese, Tomatoes, Spinach, Black Olives, and Parmesan Vinaigrette. When I got it, it had turkey, the tiniest bit of pepperoni, no cheese at all, lettuce, cucumbers, green peppers, and an obscene amount of mayonnaise. 🤨 Seriously, this sandwich was drowning in mayo. I started feeling sick halfway through eating it because it had so much mayonaise. The veggie sandwich was made correctly, but had almost no mayo. Somehow whoever made these subs got very mixed up between the two... my sister and brother in law also ordered subs which I picked up at the same time and theirs also had entirely too much sauce, and they didn't get the 2 cookies they ordered. Absolutely ridiculous. I only gave 2 stars because the kid who handed me the orders was very nice. Clearly, better training and attention to detail is...
