Hardee’s — Restaurant in Greencastle

Update: August 8, 2025 After one of the managers, Stephanie, reached out to me and graciously apologized for our experience and offered to make it right, we gave it another try. This time was much different. I got tenders again and they were delicious. My boyfriend got the wrong sandwich but they quickly made it right. The young girl who took our order was very pleasant and friendly. I definitely appreciate the better experience and having Stephanie reach out.

I ordered 5 pc chicken tenders with ranch. The girl who took our order was sure to tell us that the dining room closed at 10 pm. We were there at 925 pm. She was not overly friendly. When she brought our food, she said she forgot our forks and would be right back. I said and the ranch. When she brought them to us, she put them on the table. I said thank you and she walked away without another word. The tenders were not hot. When I was halfway through my tenders, I noticed the pieces on the bottom weren't like the rest. It was actually a piece of chicken for a sandwich cut in half. And not appealing enough to even eat it. I guess they couldn't be bothered to make a fresh order. They were just kids working and seemed extremely bothered to have customers. Not a good...

1st time here. On a bike ride and had a craving for fries and a drink. The girl at the register was very sweet and helpful. Even brought the fries too my table. Place seemed clean enough. Did not use the rest room. What can I say, this is Hardee's.

One thing that drastically stood out though was the design of the building. You either had to walk a long way to the front entrance OR walk across drive thru traffic. Once at the entrance, the right side door was locked. The left door is obstructed by a large column. Not very handicap accessable. There was no signage directing you too which door to use either. Made the same mistake on the way out. The closet door was the locked door AND it was also locked from the inside. I am a locksmith by profession. There is trim functions designed to control egress from a building. I think this Hardee's is due for a redesign.

The Mercersburg Hardees is a very clean restuarant with ample seating and parking.

While the beef burgers were cooked to perfection, the chicken burgers were either WAY overcooked or had been sitting in a "hot bin" far too long. They had the consistency of rubber except in the very center of the meat. The condiments were sparse as were the lettuce and tomato.

The fries were old and wilted, and the onion rings, though very good, were very few for the price.

The counter help was outstanding at their job, making sure they understood my order (it was rather large) and making sure I got what I asked for the first time.
